We have tried many other river cruises companies; SCENIC is the best one so far. When it says EVERYTHING INCLUDED, everything is indeed included: no surprise such as port fees, beverages (top quality brands & excellent wines), tips for staff/guides, excursions etc.. You do not spend any extra penny if you wish (besides merchandise on board or extra tips for great staff).
Dining is ...
Exceptional service, the best we've ever had, and we've been on over 20 cruises.
Nothing was too much trouble for any of the crew.
The cruise director insisted on carrying the 2 cups of tea i was taking to my cabin, even though she had just come back from a hike with other guests, and still had her coat and bag on.
The hotel manager was everywhere, greeting guests, assisting crew, ...
I am a travel agent. I knew they were great but honestly they were even better than I expected. Their service was fabulous. The staff is above and beyond and constantly outdid themselves. Scenic left no stone un-turned. The wine selection was excellent, the food was excellent and the cabin was super comfortable. Two weeks went by in a flash. The wait staff in the lounge and in the dining ...
You can really judge a company by the way they handle a difficult situation. My experience, and others, on this trip was that Scenic handled this absolutely terribly and conducted the tour at the most cheapest cost possible to themselves. They didn’t deliver a luxury experience, even though they still had the opportunity and facilities to do so, instead they provided terrible service with really ...
Unfortunately we were sailing in an unlucky year as 2018 saw one of the driest condition on the rivers in 100 years. So we weren’t able to sail on our assign ship the Opal. Our embarkation didn’t happen on Oct 24 as scheduled because no ship could reach Budapest. We were able to finally board the Jewel on Oct 28 in Regensburg.
The ship was comfortable and it was smooth sailing, we had a good ...
Because it was advertise as a luxury cruise with 5 stars all inclusive beverage offer....and we like to stay in the same room for 2 weeks and not relocate our luggage (4 times in this cruise !)
We chose a Royal Panamera Suite and we had the same food and beverage as others in a different deck
Notice of low water was send by email the day of departure after we had inquire 2 weeks before and ...
Cruise was supposed to be a river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam, however, low water levels resulted in being bussed 800 km of the 1400 km trip.
Scenic was not, of course, responsible for the low water, however, they almost certainly knew well before the Oct. 16/18 start date that they would likely have to bus passengers for more than 1/2 of the trip. They therefore should have cancelled ...
Chose this cruise to see the scenery, castles, and towns as we cruised along the Danube and the Rhine and the fact we would not have to pack for all 15 days. Actually we only cruised 1 day total in the daytime, the rest was a series of long bus trips, 3 ship changes and a few night in hotels and some cruising at night. The Ruby was the last ship but no space to enter all 3.
This was all due to ...
Water levels were low so we ‘swapped’ ships twice. Started on Scenic Pearl, then Scenic Opal then Scenic Amber. Opal and Amber were newer ships so larger rooms. Service was excellent. Food great. Tours organized very well and cruise director Andreea was amazing. The swaps were handled very well and pretty painlessly for us, with the exception we had to pack up twice but all luggage was handl d ...
We chose the Scenic line thru a recommondation from our travel agent and also friends.
There were low river issues before we left, but there was no talk of postponing or cancelling. We started off our holiday with a 10 day bus tour of Poland. We chose to pick up the river cruise in Budapest to have a relaxing 2 weeks after busing for 10 days. We were on the Pearl for 4-5 days, switched to the ...
