We did three cruises with MSC: Our first, only and last. Our ticket said food and drinks included. Yes if you "dined" at the chaotic Bistro on deck 14, and kept to iced water and coffee out of a bucket. Our balcony cabin had no sea-view as the "glass" fence to the ocean was a 1 inch steel-plate. Ocean-view only if standing up. We dined at our assigned restaurant and table, and were presented with menu with no prices -and next day we could see we had been charged with 60 EUR for a mediocre dinner. The ship docks between 3 and 10 miles off the cities, except in Palermo, and they charge you 10-15 EUR for the shuttle-bus. Any decent hotel offers that for free, i.e. included in the price of the room. We had the pleasure of many Italian families with children, and to say they are noisy is an understatement. In the pool-area talking was impossible, shouting was the only means of communication. The ship itself was fine, meticulously clean and very stylish, and the navigators showed some remarkable ship-handling when entering and leaving ports, very impressive from an ex-pro. One night we had a force-9 gale directly on the side, and rolling was maximum 2 degrees. Ship is OK, the rest is not. Read Less

Staff is A+,house keeper Christopher Cabbo and waiter Jonathan González are 5 stars on my book and in general all the where always helpful. On the flip side of the coin...They charge for everything. The charge for water at the restaurant and they don't have the buffet after 1:30 pm,if you are hungry you most dress and go at the restaurant. The don't have coffee after 10pm and they charge for pizza after 5pm.I enjoy drinks with my wife at the pool BUT no staff to serve can you IMAGINE!That's a first for me,other cruiselines bombard you with fancy drinks which we love.No art auctions and entertainment at the theater was ok.They charge for tv movies or you only have a choise of 1 free movie a day in tv over and over again and 3 movies for the rest of the 18 nights!Bartenders at the disco did not knew how to make a cuba Libre(rom and coke), did not know how to make the drink of the day, he had to ask 2waiters and a manager!.I be live they are short on personel and trying trying there best on saving money and staff.Everyone I talk had the same feeling about the matter and most desapointed.I will mention that the ship broke in the middle of the atlantic at night, one of the engine explode and it was on fire for a hour, we where stock with no power for 2hours.I wail say that in general Costa in in the last ship we will think when we plan our next adventure......
