We are Platinum level Princess cruisers. We chose this cruise primarily for the itinerary which included a Land Tour to Machu Picchu followed by a cruise around Cape Horn and Antarctica. Unfortunately, that itinerary was in flux and cut back before and during the trip. We've written a long, detailed letter to Princess' Executive team. An abbreviated version follows, which I've called "The ...
We chose Celebrity thinking we would get a better experience and more refined than we have on RYC (which have been great on the 3 cruses we have taken with them).
I was quite disappointed to be honest, the ship was tired with worn out carpet, rust visible on the outside of the ship and generally not the experience we were sold. Most of the staff were great and tried to make up for the tired ...
We took this cruise because of the itinerary to Hawaii.
Embarkation/ Disembarkation: Getting on was very easy and orderly due to the schedule given before hand.
Did the self-disembarkation. Very good and no crowds. For those not sure about disembarkation: If taking the scheduled disembarkation, luggage must be out in the hallway at suppertime the night prior. Everyone must be out of their ...
We usually cruise with Royal Carribean, but this itinerary appealed to us as a way back from a South America trip, so we decided to see what Modern Luxury is all about while wearing our Diamond Plus Royal Caribbean goggles. We have four previous cruises with Celebrity, the first ten years ago, and we thought we knew what to expect.
EMBARKATION:
Embarkation in San Antonio, Chile, was ...
The infinity is definitely showing some age, some rust here and there, some fraying fabric on chairs and probably the most obvious is the state of the cabin bathrooms which are really in need of some overhaul. On the other hand, the crew is outstanding...friendly, always say hello when passing. The food has actually, IMHO, improved....the food on the infinity is actually spiced so if the dish ...
Took cruise in order to circumference South America. Good cruise except for the nonexistent wi-fy. No way to keep in contact with family except at the ports due to the ship’s poor internet during the entire cruise.
The main dining room meals got boring after second week. More variety for menu options on Lido. We did go to the specialty steak house restaurant for a Birthday celebration. We ...
The activity staff was great on the ship with Trivia and games 2 times a day. The ship did not have enough interesting enrichment sessions except for fellow passengers who did the bike ride from northern Alaska to bottom of South America. Their presentation was amazing!
The food on the cruise was just ok with dinners taking over 2 hours due to delays in the kitchen.
We did enjoy the ...
Chose cruise for route and timing availability.
Food was acceptable, bar staff good. Some dining room staff were rather surly and acting as if they were near the end of their contract and had no intention in renewing their contract.
Had the same annoying art auctions as Carnival. Pushing notion that if you were savvy enough to buy their art onboard, it would enhance your image as being a ...
We enjoyed the itinerary and had a good time. But, as usual with Princess, the food varied widely from excellent to terrible. The first week, the food in the main dining room was really high quality. Then it went downhill during the second week. The food in the buffet was consistently poor throughout, by the way. Can't recommend eating there unless you're in a rush.
Princess needs to get some ...
We chose this cruise because of the itinerary and the size of the ship. My husband has trouble walking and I didn't want a Mega Size ship where it would be a long walk to all the venues.
I requested a cabin in the middle of the ship, and instead we had the very first cabin in the bow. I paid extra for "run of the ship" hoping for an upgrade or at least, a cabin in the middle. The dining room, ...
