South American Reunion Cruise

Review for Celebrity Infinity to South America

We chose this cruise as we were a group of 10 persons who have all travelled widely and were looking for new destinations. The Panama Canal cruise with South American ports of call ticked most of the group's boxes. The ship's facilities were excellent as were the entertainment on sailing days and evening theatre. The state room cabins were excelent and were perfectly serviced by the cabin ...

+++++Value. I Love Celebrity and the Infinity is an older ship but so comfortable for us! Let's start from the beginning: March 14th: We choose to break up our trip and fly from Fort Lauderdale to Bogota, Columbia. It was a 5 hour flight on Avianca Airlines (an airline we haven't traveled). The flight was great, I would definately fly with them again. We booked the Marriott Bogota Airport. ...

Around the horn - a good cruise.

Going around the horn was a bucket list item. That box is now checked. The ship itself is showing wear and tear -- nothing broken, but obvious use and lack of cosmetic maintenance. The cabin showed similar wear -- a broken hinge here, lumpy well-worn mattress, towels that might once have been fluffy, scrathed woodwork. Again, nothing was really broken, but work is needed. Dining was ...

Wonderful cruise around Chile and Argentina and Uruguay

We chose the cruise to be able to visit various ports in Chile, Argentina and Uruguay and see the very varied landscape of southern South America and view the abundant wild-life. We like the size of the Infinity and found it very comfortable. The Infinity does seem like it is due to be refurbished. Furniture, fixtures and linens were older and seemed worn and really need to be redone. Linens ...

I love every ship!

I do love every ship and Infinity is no different. Yeah she is a little bit older but that does not bother me. I like the movie area up on Deck 12 - although most of my cruise "Around the Horn" was too cold to enjoy it. I also love the sunset bar on Deck 10 aft. I was staying on Deck 11 and was able to take a stairwell right down to that bar. Finally with the cruise I was on - I spent most ...

Celebrity sells a consistently good product. With the exception of the food in the buffet the dining was excellent. Toast preparation in the buffet was one glaring shortfall. And unfortunately, many of the foods which needed to be served hot were not even warm. The design of the buffet also needs to be re-done. You had to do a lap around the different food stations just to see what was ...

This was our first celebrity cruise and we selected it for the itinerary as we were planning a short visit to Chile. We spent time in Santiago, Valparaiso and Vina Del Mar before embarkation. The boarding process in Valparaiso was a bit confusing for our driver to find the correct gate. The main port and ship were much farther west than the port entrance. Once in the building we found a very short ...

Dated decor, tiny rooms, great public spaces

This trip was chosen because of its itinerary and starting point in Valparaiso, Chile. We upgraded to the highest balcony level but room 7112 was very tiny although the location was great. Really hard for two people to share the room, barely space to pass by each other at the foot of the bed. Next time we'll go Concierge Class to a slightly bigger space. The public spaces on this ship have been ...

The cabin was ok, however the shower had mold in it and I don't think that the shower floor had been cleaned (bleached) ever. When the shower over spray was wiped up (by my wife or I) the dirt came up off of the floor. The cabin steward (Norman) was great. We asked for ice and it was there daily. The on board entertainment varied from "knock your socks off" to so-so. The ships entertainer's ...

This was a memorable cruise after completing our two week journey in Peru and Chile . My husband and I chose to discover Machu Picchu on our own prior to embarcation in Valparaiso. When we arrived at the port on embarkation day prepared to receive our seapass with our stateroom information in aqua class we soon realized we were upgraded to a Ski Suite , we were overjoyed , surprised , elated ...
