We chose Celebrity thinking we would get a better experience and more refined than we have on RYC (which have been great on the 3 cruses we have taken with them).
I was quite disappointed to be honest, the ship was tired with worn out carpet, rust visible on the outside of the ship and generally not the experience we were sold. Most of the staff were great and tried to make up for the tired ...
We usually cruise with Royal Carribean, but this itinerary appealed to us as a way back from a South America trip, so we decided to see what Modern Luxury is all about while wearing our Diamond Plus Royal Caribbean goggles. We have four previous cruises with Celebrity, the first ten years ago, and we thought we knew what to expect.
EMBARKATION:
Embarkation in San Antonio, Chile, was ...
The infinity is definitely showing some age, some rust here and there, some fraying fabric on chairs and probably the most obvious is the state of the cabin bathrooms which are really in need of some overhaul. On the other hand, the crew is outstanding...friendly, always say hello when passing. The food has actually, IMHO, improved....the food on the infinity is actually spiced so if the dish ...
We chose this cruise because we heard it had scenery like you would see on a cruise to Alaska. Similar, but certainly not better. While we enjoyed each port for different reasons and the excursions offered by Celebrity were good, and one time we were an hour late getting back to the ship, but they held the ship, making it good that we used the cruiseline for excursions. We went to see the ...
Usually really enjoy Celebrity cruises but this one was just average. The worst part was that the ship got the norovirus and lots of things changed because of this. There were a lot of sick people. They had to starting serving in the buffet instead of people serving themselves. There were taking extra precautions in sanitizing the ship...all the things they should have been doing from the ...
Wanted to visit Chile, Peru and Ecuador. Weather was perfect and the seas calm all the way.
Embarkation in Valparaiso was something! Remember embarkations like that YEARS and years ago! Happy it wasn't raining.
Capt. and bridge staff were friendly and were at many social functions.
Enjoyed Elite status - Celebrity is generous with their loyalty program and it was appreciated.

I booked this cruise because I was told that we would be going through the New Canal but we did not. I would not have gone because it was my third time through the Panama and one of the other times was on the Infinity also, the Blu restraunt is a very nice change from the large dining room, it is quieter and more relaxed service. We where in Aqua class cabin 9049 which has some noise issues no ...
I thought that south america would be interesting. it was not we are world travelers with 35 cruises under our belt. the service and food was awful the main menu had cheek for dinner. do not go on this ship infinity it is terrible. 3/4 of the ship did not speak english. staff was not experienced. the ports were ok but look elsewhere to spend your cash. i always believed celebrity would do ...
My husband and I have cruised many times on many different lines, but up until now Celebrity was always our favorite. We chose this cruise because it was going through the Panama Canal and traveling up the Pacific coast of South America. We were in a concierge class room. The food in the main dining room was wonderful, and we enjoyed our table mates so much. The staff was attentive and ...
It was a long time I wanted to visit Patagonia and finally at the end of last year I decided to organize my trip. I was considering to do it on land and visit all the amazing places Patagonia has to offer but at the end it would have been stressful and laborious. Having checked all the possibilities I had, I decided to experience the modern luxury, as you call it, and put myself in the centre of ...
