Didn't Meet Expectation

Review for a South America Cruise on Celebrity Infinity

We chose Celebrity thinking we would get a better experience and more refined than we have on RYC (which have been great on the 3 cruses we have taken with them). I was quite disappointed to be honest, the ship was tired with worn out carpet, rust visible on the outside of the ship and generally not the experience we were sold. Most of the staff were great and tried to make up for the tired ...

Very mixed emotions

Friend and I had never been to South America. We figured this cruise would check that off the list as well as fulfill the desire to sail the Strait of Magellan. We flew into Santiago the day prior to the cruise and had purchased transfers to Valparaiso, almost two hours away. There were no taxis at all, Jan 2 is a national holiday in Chile. Would have been nice if Celebrity had realized this ...

Good Cape Horn Cruise after a shaky start

We had always wanted to do a Cape Horn cruise as it is one of the classic voyages. We were 2 couples. Coming out of Covid, the incentives were fantastic with free drinks, tips and (slow) wifi. Embarkation from Valparaiso was a gong show as I believe ours was the first ship departing for Celebrity from that port in about 3 years. Lots of grumbling in the very long line and many of the staff ...

Pretty Awesome Cruise Until Debarkation

We just got off the Celebrity Infinity on her re-position cruise from South America to Fort Lauderdale. Considering she was limping on only one good engine, her support staff and Captain sure did an excellent job getting us from Chile to Florida, and through the Panama Canal, with as least an interruption to our schedule as they could manage. We didn't miss any ports of call as planned and the ...

Embarkation went smoothly enough. Meals in dining room not to my taste most nights so we ate in ocean view cafe. Mainly the stirfrys which were freshly cooked to order and were excellent, We found the ship activities to be lacking. Guest speakers... poor for trip what did Alaska act have to do with this Cruise? Very little info on ports except for a short talk on first sea day. Panama canal ...

South American Reunion Cruise

We chose this cruise as we were a group of 10 persons who have all travelled widely and were looking for new destinations. The Panama Canal cruise with South American ports of call ticked most of the group's boxes. The ship's facilities were excellent as were the entertainment on sailing days and evening theatre. The state room cabins were excelent and were perfectly serviced by the cabin ...

+++++Value. I Love Celebrity and the Infinity is an older ship but so comfortable for us! Let's start from the beginning: March 14th: We choose to break up our trip and fly from Fort Lauderdale to Bogota, Columbia. It was a 5 hour flight on Avianca Airlines (an airline we haven't traveled). The flight was great, I would definately fly with them again. We booked the Marriott Bogota Airport. ...

Where Is The Modern Luxury?

Review for a South America Cruise on Celebrity Infinity

We usually cruise with Royal Carribean, but this itinerary appealed to us as a way back from a South America trip, so we decided to see what Modern Luxury is all about while wearing our Diamond Plus Royal Caribbean goggles. We have four previous cruises with Celebrity, the first ten years ago, and we thought we knew what to expect. EMBARKATION: Embarkation in San Antonio, Chile, was ...

Cruise on the infinity for the itinerary, not for the ship

Review for a South America Cruise on Celebrity Infinity

The infinity is definitely showing some age, some rust here and there, some fraying fabric on chairs and probably the most obvious is the state of the cabin bathrooms which are really in need of some overhaul. On the other hand, the crew is outstanding...friendly, always say hello when passing. The food has actually, IMHO, improved....the food on the infinity is actually spiced so if the dish ...

We chose this cruise because we heard it had scenery like you would see on a cruise to Alaska. Similar, but certainly not better. While we enjoyed each port for different reasons and the excursions offered by Celebrity were good, and one time we were an hour late getting back to the ship, but they held the ship, making it good that we used the cruiseline for excursions. We went to see the ...
