Wonderful Caribbean Cruise!

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Star Pride

This was our second cruise on the Star Pride. It did not disappoint. The service, food, wine, cocktails and activities were excellent! Although the weather didn't cooperate for some of our destinations, the captain and crew did well to dock and/or anchor at other interesting ports/islands. The Jost Vandyke and Soggy Dollar stop was one of the highlights of the trip. We rented a car on St. Maartens ...

I choose WindStar because I wanted to try sailing on a small ship. This was my third Cruise my first ship was freedom of the seas and my second ship was Norwegian epic and it was a big difference. From the moment we checked in in San Juan there was nearly nobody at the port in front of us at 1:30 p.m. when we gave the person our luggage I think it was at our room within an hour of being on the ...

Best staterooms yet

I wanted to take one of the sail yachts but the departure and arrival locations were different and astronomical for air fare, so we settled on this one out of San Juan. Easy to get to, not too expensive for airfare. The destinations of St. Thomas, St. Barts, St. Martin, Montserrat, and the BVI was an attraction too. The stateroom (Deck 5, all the way in the bow) was the best I've seen. The ...

Exceptional experience for this 1st-time cruiser

My husband (46) and I (45) always said we would never cruise because we didn't want to be stuck with thousands of people. But, I discovered Windstar and we decided to book the newly renovated Star Pride since it only holds 312 passengers. I am so glad we did because this was the BEST vacation we ever had. We loved having an all-inclusive package without any added costs. We don't drink so we opted ...

First Windstar Cruise, A T-Atl

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Star Legend

This cruise was thrust upon us. We had booked a mid-Feb cruise on the stretched Star Breeze from BCN to MIA but construction delays cancelled that a few days before Christmas. Since we were within 60 days of sailing, and Windstar had all my vacation money, switching to another line was not possible. So I scrambled and came up with this cruise. With a 20% cruise credit plus the price guarantee, ...

Sis is allergic to mold, fragrance and chemicals and our diet requires No salt: Windstar met and exceeded our highest hopes! The snorkel gear was great so in most ports we walked, took a water taxi or regular taxi to a beach, all beautiful! We booked an excursion with Joy’s tours Saint Lucia, an amazing boat ride to snorkel at the Pitons. Also stopped at Anse Chastenet, famous beach. Can’t wait ...

Two years ago Windstar announced the plan to stretch the Star ships increasing the guest capacity from 210 guests to 310 guests. We love the small size and hope that the increase in size doesn’t change the friendly atmosphere on the ship. We looked forward to another small ship experience before the scheduled stretch. Ship is still beautiful. The gorgeous woodwork, marble bathrooms, and ...

Our first Windstar cruise & would absolutely do another one. Smaller ship a plus

Windstar has only 6 ships so and they are small ships focused on going to areas the bigger ships cannot get to. While the ship itself is a little dated, it is slated for a big makeover this summer which is explained here: https://www.windstarcruises.com/starplus/. The cabins are suites with a sofa, chairs, a desk, a full bathtub and a walk-in closet – plenty of room for the 2 of us. There is a ...

Wonderful cruise, with a few glitches

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Star Legend

This is basically a wonderful ship, with a few glitches. It was recently bought by Windstar and is due to a major renovation/refit in 2020, so these comments might not apply to later sailings. This is a small ship with huge cabins. The staff and officers are very competent and caring. Food was somewhat variable, ranging from OK to very good. Prices were affordable considering the size and ...

Great Back-to-Back Caribbean Cruise

Just as a bit of background, we are a Canadian couple in our mid 50’s from Montreal. This was our 13th cruise having sailed 5 times with Celebrity and now 8 times with Windstar on both the Sailing Ships and Motor Yachts, all in the Caribbean. What keeps us coming back to Windstar is the small size of the ships (and contrary to what some people may say, they will still be small by all standards ...
