Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Carnival Liberty

Spent 3 days in San Juan prior to the cruise had a great time in old San Juan. It was our 5th Carnival Cruise, we picked it as we have heard in the past Carnival goes all out for their so called Journey Cruises and it had a good itinerary. We pushed out a cruise we had booked to next year, for the most part we wish we had not. Embarkation was smooth, we were onboard by noon and in our room ...

I totally believe you get what you pay for. Being avid and seasoned cruisers (19+ times on Royal, Celebrity, Norwegian, Princess, Holland America), this has to be the worse cruise overall that my wife and I have ever been on! Our choice was made because it was a 10 day cruise. We picked up the ship in San Juan and were finished with the embarkation by noon. The welcome aboard lunch was so-so but, ...

First Time on Silverseas and Disappointed!

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Silver Wind

This was my first cruise with Silverseas and unfortunately it was not what I expected ! The ship was very " tired " and tatty in places, it is in my opinion ready for either a complete refurbishment or ready for retirement from the fleet. Cabins are definitely in need of upgrading, carpets were in need of replacing, no tea or coffee facilities and bathrooms were cold and tired. Balcony was rusty ...

According to American law no royalties are due for music composed before 1923. Silversea's playlist reflects that fact. Their live music is not performed by a band but by a "Quartet". No singer - none needed for a repertoire primarily consisting of Cha-cha-cha and various nondescript. So unfortunately we had to head straight for our cabin after dinner. If you don't like listening (or dancing) ...

Not the Best Carnival Cruise I Have Ever Taken

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Carnival Dream

Even after a great price break, I would not recommend this cruise / ship to a friend. Pros * staff attitude and service orientation (excellent) Cons * Embarkation - the worst I have ever experienced (being silver or diamond did not help in any way) * Gym equipment - very poor condition / maintenance * Hot tubs - none of them were warm much less hot. To ...

Not Worth the Money

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Insignia

This was sold as an upscale luxury cruise with the best food of cruising which we did not find to be the case. The food in some cases was below standard and not edible, and at best it was equal to the food on Princess and Celebrity. The baked goods were consistently mediocre and stale, the fish was nondescript, and the steak in the Polo Grill was totally not edible. Only after my companions had ...

Adventure of the Seas - Western Caribbean

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Adventure of the Seas

Well this was my 2nd time cruising and it was almost enough to make me not do it again. One of the reasons for taking my second cruise was that it was so good the first time around. I feel bad because my expectations and reality were two different things. I was sold a package by RCL that they have a Gold standard and what they gave me was an tin platter. The stateroom for starters is worn out. The ...
