Yet Another Negative Review of Silver Cloud

We are seasoned travelers having sailed on Holland America, Crystal Cruises and now Silversea. We saved the "best" for our 35th anniversary celebration, choosing a Southern Caribbean itinerary. We have sailed the Caribbean many times but never on an "ultra luxury" ship, which was the designation in all the literature of Silversea and particularly Silver Cloud. Our embarkation was uneventful, ...

This was our first cruise and we followed the recommendation of friends to travel on a small, rather than medium or large, ship and to travel on Silversea. My husband and I have previously cruised on Royal Caribbean; we've gotten comfortable with the layouts and are very happy on the huge Oasis and Allure. . .we've been thrilled by the superb entertainment on the large Royal C. ships. We chose this cruise, on the Silver Cloud, when an alumni assn. offered it; the reasons we chose this cruise: we enjoy Caribbean cruises, but were eager to see some ...

Our travel agent suggested that we take a luxury cruise and we are very happy that we listened to her! We opted to use our points and travelled on our own. We left a day early and stayed at Hotel Milano - a charming older hotel in the heart of old San Juan. We had breakfast on the terrace upstairs and this consisted of basic pastries, toasts, fruit and cheese slices. It was plenty for us. We ...
