Surprisingly pleased! Owner's Suite

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Jewel of the Seas

After reading all the negative reviews I almost did not book this old ship! I am picky, really picky and I am a true "Karen". I booked he one bedroom Owner's suite cabin. This cabin was on deck 10 and near the elevator, which after pulling a hamstring days before the cruise was extremely helpful. The towels were not exactly fluffy and yes the hot water handle fell off when I turned it on, ...

Good Time on the Jewel

Overall, we had an very good experience. The crew was outstanding- knowledgeable, efficient and had good senses of humor. Food was a little uneven in the main dining room and certainly not to pre-pandemic standards. On lobster night, my wife and I had to laugh at the smallest tails we'd ever seen. We had a three night dining package and were disappointed in Chops Grille. It was nothing ...

Southern Caribbean Getaway

Booked this cruise because of the itinerary. I planned on visiting friends in both Barbados and Tobago, which I did. The only problem with the itinerary is the San Juan departure port which is cumbersome to get to. The Jewel although one of RCI's older ships was clean and well maintained and really doesn't show her age. Some aspects like the tiny pools and small windjammer buffet do harken to ...

Great experience overall with some notable misses

Overall we had a great time. The crew, service, and ship condition were top-notch. There were, however, some disappointments. Food: Portion sizes, unlike other cruise lines, are still ample. The Oceanview Cafe buffet is fantastic, especially the fresh-baked croissants, pizza and omelet stations. One notable disappoint across the ship is desserts. All the cakes start with a dry spongecake that ...

Review of the Epic - San Juan to NYC (Apr 14-22)

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Norwegian Epic

I took the cruise from San Juan to NYC that was from Apr 14-22. Observations about the Epic: Despite having about 4000 people on it, the ship never seemed crowded. Majority of the times, when I was walking up/down the stairs they were empty. The only issue I noticed, was walking from one end of the ship to the other on the main decks 5,6, and 7 that had most of the public spaces - ...

Sitting in the SJU Airport and wanted to leave some parting words - We had a wonderful week onboard Epic and I would highly consider voyaging with Her again in the Mediterranean. Food: Overall, we were very pleased. Dining rooms were excellent with a few hit or miss items. We did breakfast in Taste and was also good. We had reservations each night and was quickly seated, staff was great, ...

Our experience on Epic was great!

Unlike so many reviews I read, we had a great time and had great service on Norwegian Epic. Yes, the ship and cabins have a somewhat strange layout, we experienced none of the issues that those who reviewed this ship recently had. Food in the main dining rooms and Le Bistro were very good (Le Bistro was excellent) as was the food on the buffet. We were in a standard balcony cabin, which was small ...

Don't Expect Formal Dining

I can't say enough about the staff throughout the ship; always smiling, asking about your day and always wishing you a great day. The three staff directly responsible for our well being, room steward, waiter and his assistant, were all top notch. We booked all our shore excursion directly with Celebrity which was easy and efficient. The nice part doing that was they had staff on the pier to ...

A very enjoyable, relaxing cruise

We have cruised on multiple cruise lines and were very surprised and pleased with Celebrity this year. Most cruise lines are moving toward add-ons of upscale dining packages, drink packages, photography packages, etc. Celebrity did not pressure anyone at anytime to purchase additional packages and we found this very comfortable. It was available for you to choose, but no one taking pictures at ...
