Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Brilliance of the Seas

We have sailed previously with Royal Caribbean and really enjoyed the layout of this particular ship. The Promenade deck was always interesting and they had a cool parade the first night. The VERY best thing was the magician/comedian. Best show I've seen on a cruise ship. The ice show and Temptations review were also very entertaining. Unless you eat a lot of red meat the food was sub par. Our ...

Smooth Sailing From Start to Finish

This was our eighth cruise, the fourth time with RCI. We had a very relaxed journey from start to finish. We are from Sullivan County (NY). Due to the late departure of the Brilliance and the fact that we had vacationed in Puerto Rico previously, we over nighted at the airport (EWR). We stayed in the Newark Airport Hampton Inn. We had a 9:30 Jet Blue flight and found not having to drive (a two ...

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Brilliance of the Seas

My husband and I have sailed on Norwegian, Holland, Princess and (primarily)Carnival; this was our first experience with Royal Caribbean. We always end up having a wonderful time on our vacations, no matter what mishaps occur along the way -- we always try to go with the flow. This vacation was no different; we had a great time. However, to be subjective in this review, I will present the things ...

Great Itinerary

This was our second cruise to the Southern Caribbean and we really enjoyed this itinerary. Port - San Juan, Puerto Rico. This was our second cruise out of this port and we got on the boat quickly with no problems. We did not venture out into San Juan. St. Thomas - we visited with friends here, but have been here before. Megan's Bay is always a good choice on this island. If you enjoy ...

This is our 10th cruise, most of them on RCCL and we have always enjoyed our trips. This was no exception, although it is probably past time for the Brilliance to see dry dock (which is where she is going shortly). We had a JS on deck 10 and that will be the last time we book any cabin below (or above) the windjammer (or any other venue) I know better, but it was the last aft cabin available, ...

Terrific Cruise!

This was our 9th cruise with 5 different cruise lines (Carnival, Celebrity, NCL and Holland America). We had been on the Radiance of the Seas and loved it so we tried the Brilliance to visit a couple of different islands (Tortola and Guadeloupe). The embarkation in San Juan was fast and efficient (unlike the disembarkation -- took 2 hours to get through the terminal and customs for some reason ...

We just returned from a seven night Southern Caribbean cruise on the Brilliance of the Seas departing from Puerto Rico. This was the second leg on the schedule after cruising the first leg in 2011 on the Serenade. We missed a year as our preferred cabin 9076 was not available in 2012. We love this cabin as the balcony is a large wedged shape allowing a full frontal view of the ship. There are two ...

This was my 10th cruise on RCI. I have to say the last few years I had been finding that the service was not what it used to be but on this cruise this cruise was not the case. We had the BEST dining room service that we have had in years. Our waiter and assistant waiter went beyond what was expected and regularly told us if we were not happy to let them know right away as they wanted to meet our ...

Departed Old San Juan on the Brilliance after spending one pre-cruise night in the Milano hotel, where our room cost $150 and was no bigger than our cabin on the ship. Yes, and an inside room, with no window, 50-year-old furniture and mushroom carpet. The hotel was okay because right in the heart of the old city. All we did was sleep there, plus have the breakfast for $5.50 per person on the ...

Exciting new experience for me. Read on-line reviews to glean what it would be like, what to expect and what to pack for a Southern Caribbean Cruise. Talked extensively to my brother who has several cruise experiences and my travel agent. Went to the doctor and received a Hepatitis shot and booster as well as a prescription. for possible stomach ailments as a preventative. Didn't need the meds. ...
