Review of the Epic - San Juan to NYC (Apr 14-22)

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Norwegian Epic

I took the cruise from San Juan to NYC that was from Apr 14-22. Observations about the Epic: Despite having about 4000 people on it, the ship never seemed crowded. Majority of the times, when I was walking up/down the stairs they were empty. The only issue I noticed, was walking from one end of the ship to the other on the main decks 5,6, and 7 that had most of the public spaces - ...

Sitting in the SJU Airport and wanted to leave some parting words - We had a wonderful week onboard Epic and I would highly consider voyaging with Her again in the Mediterranean. Food: Overall, we were very pleased. Dining rooms were excellent with a few hit or miss items. We did breakfast in Taste and was also good. We had reservations each night and was quickly seated, staff was great, ...

Southern Caribbean we had never done. Fantastic itenerary, Aruba, curaçao, bonaire, st Kitts started in Puerto Rico. The weather was fabulous, our excursions were a lot of fun. Something different ever port we stopped at. I’m not sure why the negative vibe about Epic, the staff were friendly especially when you took the time to chat with them, very cordial. The ladies at the buffet Happy happy ...

Our experience on Epic was great!

Unlike so many reviews I read, we had a great time and had great service on Norwegian Epic. Yes, the ship and cabins have a somewhat strange layout, we experienced none of the issues that those who reviewed this ship recently had. Food in the main dining rooms and Le Bistro were very good (Le Bistro was excellent) as was the food on the buffet. We were in a standard balcony cabin, which was small ...

San Juan, family of 6, kids age 4,6,18,20 We found the negative reviews to be unfounded. We did not wait in line excessively for anything. We never had difficulty finding a seat in the garden café and this was spring break week. Yes, avoid the elevators if you are able bodied. Also, avoid most of the shore excursions, there is lots of waiting around. Plan your own tours, like we did. Also, use ...

Second time on her, not quite as good as the first

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Norwegian Epic

We've been on the Epic before in the Mediterranean a few years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. We like the Caribbean so the combination appealed to us. Embarkation was quick and simple. The first thing we noticed was that it was a lot busier than our previous cruise on the same ship. We now presume the previous time we sailed on her she must have not been at full capacity. Anyway, we didn't ...

Epic 2/5 was Epic

We sailed on the Epic 2/5-12 to the Southern Caribbean—Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire, St Lucia, St Kitts. The itinerary was exceptional. Epic ship often gets a bad rap. The bathroom setup in cabins is funky…but doable. The curved bed snd sofa are fine. Wouldn’t be our first choice but was by no means a show stopper. The ship was full+ with 4350 passengers. Sounds like a lot, but it didn’t seem like ...

Great staff but room design is awful

I cruised on the Epic last year on a very similar itinerary, but was in the Haven on that cruise. The rooms aboard the Epic have an awful design with no separate bathroom. The toilet was in a tube to the left as you walked in and the bathtub (which was very slippery) was to the right. There was a curtain to separate these from the sleeping area but the sink was on the other side of the curtain ...

A week away from winter!

This was our 4th cruise (all on NCL) but the first on a completely full (as in 600 over double occupancy!) ship. While there were line ups for most things (dining, bars, etc), everything moved along pretty well with a few exceptions. The ship itself is a bit of an odd duck, the layout makes getting from one place to another challenging at times. It took a few days but I did get pretty good ...

The NCL Epic is a great ship and we had a lovely time! The Haven is amazing and really enjoyed most of the food and beverages we consumed. If you can get a posh pass, definitely do so! The loungers were comfortable and the bartender/servers knew our names by the end of day 1! Cagney's apps and stakes were cooked perfectly and the staff were wonderful. Try the Raspberry Creme brulee or ...
