Awful cruise

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Jewel of the Seas

Lots of issues on this cruise. Entertainment: 1. All entertainment was geared to one group of people. Everything was in Spanish. 2. Whether you were in Safari Club, Vortex or in center by Christmas/bar, all entertainment was in Spanish. Disabilities: 1. There was no assistance for people with disabilities upon leaving for excursions. You were expected to walk down three flights of ...

Great deal on cruise and 4 new ports for us. Avoid this ship if you are a avid cruiser. Ship was NOT only rundown, but was VERY filthy, found a OLD plate of food under the bed, mattress was old, stateroom was dirty, no lotion in bathroom,, ran out of TISSUE with two days left in cruise, NO limes for a gin/tonic, no p-nuts for bars snacks in bar, no fresh fruit last two days,, windows were all ...

My son chose this cruise as a graduation trip, I was not sold on flying to San Juan, as we live in Florida, the cruising capital of the world, where many great ships call Florida home, boarding an older ship was not my choice, however my son mentioned the ship has been refurbished last year and had good reviews so my husband and I, as long as my daughter went along with his choice. We we also ...

Terrible Ship - Would never go on this ship again!!!!!!!!!

This ship was the worse that I have ever been on. The food was always cold. Restaurant & Buffet. You could not get food anytime you want. They were always running out of ice. The ice cream was runny. They charge you for room service. This ship was very very boring. The Shore excursions were great. They didn't make animal towels every day. We will never ever go on this ship again. Do NOT ...

Special Diet needs? Don't take Royal!

Took Jewel of the Seas on 7 night Southern Caribbean. 1. I have lactose and gluten intolerance. I understand it is very limited diet and difficult to meet my needs, so dinners had to be pre-order 24 hrs in advance. I was fine with that. Unfortunately, for entire week, as side dishes, I was served baked potatoes, steamed broccoli and carrots. In the end of the cruise I was very tired of baked ...

1. Not much to do inside the cruise. 2. Few elevator for many people. 3. No places to eat after lunch and dinner hours. 4. No hot running water. 5. After 1 am they turn off air condition and flushing toilets. 6. Old cruise needs renovation. 7. No kids activities. 8. Outside pool to little for so many people. Too crowded. 9. Inside pool only for adults. 10. Both tours ...

I was looking forward to cruising on Jewel of the seas - I heard great thing about Royal Caribbean -- I was disappointed from the moment i got on board - staff was not helpful - service was poor - stateroom smelt stale -- washroom smelt like raw sewerage--public bathroom filthy -overall horrible experience - racist comments were made by guest regarding people of color - noone seem to take notice - ...

Definitely think twice about this ship

This cruise was planned well ahead of time, it was meant to be a happy family reunion and a 20th wedding anniversary celebration for my husband and me. I was leery of the ship, it's old and I wanted to experience a cruise on one of Royal Caribbean's fantastic new ships. But I was overruled by family members who were more concerned with the itinerary than the ship. I compromised and I'm sorry for ...

Jewel of the Seas Disappointment

In short, our experience was quite disappointing, as a result of: • Food poisoning • the RCI "bureaucratic shuffle" • Mediocre food quality • “In-Your-Face” marketing of upscale restaurants • Deferred maintenance, even though the boat recently returned from a drydock "facelift", and • Mediocre to awful musical theater shows in the Coral Theater Here are the details: FOOD ...

We were talked into going on this cruise by friends. I have sailed 20+ times and my husband once before. This was to be our much awaited Honeymoon Cruise. Worst cruise and travel experience of my entire life and I've been all over the world. For the ship being remodeled early last year, not impressed. Some of the staff was friendly. Others not so much. Our room steward Imada rocked and probably ...
