Enjoyable getaway despite a few hiccups

While we chose this particular cruise because it included Dominica, after the island was removed from the itinerary due to Hurricane damage, we stuck to plan and studied up on the substitute port, Martinique. The cruise was planned to (a) get a break from winter and (b) celebrate my son's college graduation. We had a really great time, but certainly had a few 'bumps' along the way. We handled ...

We selected this Southern Caribbean cruise because of the itinerary - 5 ports in 7 days! We thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. Loved our balcony cabin and the customer service was excellent. My only gripe is the nickel and diming when it comes to beverages. Neither my husband or I are heavy drinkers, but we like the occasional cappuccino, soda or sparkling water and it seems absurd to ...

I choose the Jewell because of good recommendations written about the service and food. They were right. Good food in Windjammer and in restaurant. The room care was good and the ammability of Isabelle to me and my wife superb. Had and small problem after buying drinks by the pool, but was solve in no time. The attention at Windjammer is very good. At the restaurant sometimes they don't ask if ...

Since the recent hurricanes trips from Puerto Rico have become very attractive due to the constant price drops as the line attempts to fill the ship last minutes. It was unfortunate to learn that the beautiful island of Dominica (which the trip was going to visit originally) was understandably swapped out since the island was decimated by the hurricanes. The ship is in good shape though there ...

i took this criuse 4th time. i like it, but something are change. The room services was bad, and now they charge $ for that service. One of the night i went to the Windjammer and the meal was bad. The crew was very good, except for the supervisor of the Schooner Bar(01-13-2018) he treat us with no respect. The Cabin Steward - Alterno was very good, always the cabin was clean, she ...

We arrived in San Juan the day before embarkation and stayed overnight in Old San Juan. I highly recommend arriving a day early because it took 2 hours for baggage claim and after a red eye flight and 12 hour travel schedule the extra 2 hours at baggage claim were exhausting! Old San Juan is a very charming side of town, with everything in walking distance and the food was excellent! Check in the ...

We chose this cruise because of the opportunity to visit 5 islands, in port from 8-5 each day and the variety of excursions offered at each port. Royal does a great job with entertainment and activities and the food is delish. Their ships are clean and the staff are always friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. From the moment we stepped on the ship we felt comfortable with the staff and ...

The ship has a fabulous itinerary the islands are fantastic! We had my time dining and had Katherine as our server and she was so fantastic we booked the table for the remainder of the cruise. The food is good but some nights it's average- nothing to write home about. However Katherine made up for it. The cabin was supposed to be a quad however it was more of a double or triple wouldn't ...

San Juan is still pretty devastated. We stayed one day before and 2 days after. That being said the big hotels have all services and the port is in fine working order. Embarkation was seamless, debarkation slower but without problem. Jewel OTS is in my opinion in great shape for an older ship. We like this class and tend to sail on it the most. We had a group of six, 4 very recent cruisers and 2 ...

My husband and I booked this New Year's Eve cruise for my 40th birthday. This was our first cruise. I booked with Royal because my parents have gone with them many times and are always happy with their trips. The ship was beautiful, very clean and in excellent condition. The crew was constantly cleaning and were constantly seen cleaning railings and disinfecting which is so important ...
