We are a group of 11-13 who have cruised together for two years. This year we sailed Royal Carribbean's Jewel of the Seas from March 9th to March 16th. We sailed out of Puerto Rico. After reading all the negative reviews I almost did not book this old ship! I am picky, really picky and I am a true "Karen". I booked he one bedroom Owner's suite cabin. Booked this cruise because of the itinerary. I planned on visiting friends in both Barbados and Tobago, which I did. The only problem with the itinerary is the San Juan departure port which is cumbersome to get to. This was a great trip. The Jewel is one of the smaller ships but it was perfect for this intinerary because it was so port-heavy. I wouldn't reccomend getting the drink package on this one. It seems like a great idea at first but if you plan to leave the ship every day to visit the islands, it would be more economical to just buy your drinks individually. PROS - Ship is great, Medium Size, Easy to get around. We sail about 6 times a year. This was our 4th on Celebrity. Ship only had 1200 passengers on this sailing. The food was exceptional. The buffet was the best on any ship and I mean any ship. Tuscan Grill was WOW. It just wins as one of the best meals I have ever eaten. Their cakes were disgusting though.
