Carnival Valor October 2014; A Bit Disappointing

Review for a Europe - Eastern Mediterranean Cruise on Carnival Valor

We recently sailed on the Carnival Valor...and had very high expectations since we love to snorkel and this cruise was very port intensive. The ship is showing its age....a rehab is really necessary. Not that there was anything wrong with the furnishings...everything was just a bit tired. (We had been on the Breeze this summer, so perhaps we were a bit biased). Little things...like handles for ...

Adventure of the Seas Review: Transatlantic San Juan, Puerto Rico (21 April 2013) to Southampton (5 May 2013) We live in New Orleans. We drove to Houston to visit our daughter and family and to leave our dog while we went on the cruise. We flew from Houston Hobby to Orlando. The Air Trans flight was about 80% empty and was quite enjoyable. I was surprised to have a luggage charge since Southwest ...

We have sailed with the Captain and Cruise Director before and both did the same high quality job as before. Captain Mancuso made some decisions for our safety and comfort that did result in the Port of Dublin stop being shortened, but that was fine with us. Better safe and enjoying a smoother sail than have the entire day in one of the Ports. Nothing is guaranteed when sailing the world's ...

In general this was a great cruise. There were a few hiccups so but generally we could not have asked for more. Embarkation: Getting to the ship in San Juan was a nightmare (that really isn't RCCL's fault) and the terminal was also a mess. We had alot of bags and the porters would not help -instead we had to drag everything to a line. Once we got to the counter the agent said she had to keep all ...

My wife and I cruised on Chandris Line out of San Juan in the late "80's and loved the experience even though it was very inexpensive and last minute. Food was the best surprise. All else was very good but not enough to get us hooked on cruising. Our next cruise (3-day)was on an older Carnival ship out of FL to Nassau with our 14 year old daughter and her friend in 1996. Quality was lower and ...

This was our second Celebrity Cruise, 1st time on the Connie. The 8 day cruise was a repositioning from San Juan to Bayonne NJ. Jet Blue had best rates to SJ from NYC. We arrived in SJ two days early an stayed at the Best Western Hotel Pierre in Condado. Very convenient to dining and public transportation. Also closer to Pan American Pier, where we left from. A quick taxi ride for $20. ...

First off, I would like to say that I selected Constellation because I was travelling with an 8 and 12 year old and had heard that this was a good option...More about that later. Embarkation was not glamorous, but was quick and efficient. We chose Celebrity over Crystal b/c we were told by a travel agent that they are better for families. Thus, we afforded ourselves the Royal Suite and still ...
