Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Crown Princess

We've just got back from a two week B2B cruise on the Crown Princess and I thought I'd share our experience. It's a bit "War & Peace", so if you get a bit bored please feel free click on the next page - I won't be offended! This is our fifth recent cruise, we've been three times with Princess and twice with RCI. There were eight of us; my wife and myself, our four kids (age 10, 12, 15 and 17) and ...

My friends and I have recently returned from a one week Eastern Caribbean cruise on the Crown Princess. We embarked from San Juan and sailed to the islands of Tortola, Antigua, St.Lucia, Barbados and St.Thomas. We were VERY disappointed with the level of service from Princess both prior to and during the cruise. We booked our flights with Princess, which was a HUGE mistake!!! They had nothing ...

Not sure how to start this review because I've read so many and realize how subjective cruising experiences are to the individual. Also, there were things that influenced our experience too. I got really sick two days before we left but what are you going to do? I was doing better by the time we boarded but still coughing. My husband also started getting the same cold a couple days into the ...

4th time on Beautiful Crown Princess

This was our fourth time on the beautiful Crown Princess in the last 13 months (Nov 06, April 07, Aug 07 and Dec 08). What can I say, we like what we like! Both DH and I are 37 years old and love to snorkel. Because I have already written a review for the cruise back in August, I thought it was important to review some of the things that were different and improved (and not so improved). This ...

This was our first cruise ever. In the past, we have selected a fun destination, booked a hotel or resort, and then did our own thing. We have been to the Caribbean, Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska, and lots of places around the USA. We are not wealthy by any means, so we always try to find the best deal without compromising our enjoyment of our vacation. I call it "Budget Luxury". Since we were ...

This was my first cruise with Princess Cruises, and I was wondering how it would compare with the 3 previous cruises I had been on, all with Royal Caribbean. The embarkation from Pier 4 in Old San Juan went smoothly and everyone there knew their job in order to keep the passenger line moving along. I chose a stateroom with a balcony, as I've heard from other friends who've cruised as well that ...

It's been a fifth cruise for me and my wife, on a fourth cruise line. The overall impression was positive, especially considering value for the money. But there were some annoying glitches that do not allow me to rate it at the top. Embarkation process was a disaster, the line winded from about 500 feet OUTSIDE the terminal, all the way to the ship. We've spent 2.5 hours from the time we arrived ...

This was our first...and, I am afraid to say, last cruise with Princess. We have been cruising for many years with Princess's sister company, P&O, based here in UK. This year we decided it was time for a change. Our flight from UK to San Juan was without delays, no problems and were well looked after on the flight. A rather disappointing delay through San Juan airport immigration followed - and ...

No problem getting on board. Well organized and quick. Our inside cabin was spacious and very comfortable, and was well kept up during the week. I would say the highlight of the trip was the food. We ate anytime dining, and usually ate in the DaVinci room. We were very flexible, and rarely waited to be seated, to order, or to be fed. In general, the food was served hot and was very tasty, with ...

We have just returned from a 14 day back to back cruise (East and West Caribbean) on the Crown, sailing out of San Juan on 25th November. We flew with Thompson Fly, chartered from the UK by Princess and enjoyed a good comfortable flight with a complimentary drink service. Embarkation was ok as we arrived around 6.30 pm so the priority boarding we had as Platinum members did not give any advantage ...
