Review of the Crown Princess April 26th - May 03
This took me a while to get out, but since I have used Cruise Critic daily since booking my cruise back in October I wanted to leave a review. My hope is that it will give some good information to people who are considering Princess vs. another cruise line which is what brought me to Cruise Critic in the first place.
To start this was a cruise ...
We've just got back from a two week B2B cruise on the Crown Princess and I thought I'd share our experience. It's a bit "War & Peace", so if you get a bit bored please feel free click on the next page - I won't be offended! This is our fifth recent cruise, we've been three times with Princess and twice with RCI. There were eight of us; my wife and myself, our four kids (age 10, 12, 15 and 17) and ...
Well, where do I begin! This is my 6th Cruise, 2nd with Princess, I won't say it was the worst cruise (Carnival has that spot!) 3 on Royal & 1 on Carnival but it certainly wasn't the best.
Getting on board was great, smooth process and fast. We landed around noon and hopped in a taxi for $21.50 for 2 people and 4 bags...I would do this again as we didn't have to "WAIT" for the shuttle and ...
The Crown Princess was a great ship and we had a great time. Probably the most disappointment was the entertainment. It was far below what we have experienced on NCL and Carnival. We loved the itinerary. The islands were fabulous.
Getting to the ship from the airport- My advise is do not purchase a round trip ticket from the cruise line to get to the ship. A cab will cost you about $20 total one ...
Not sure how to start this review because I've read so many and realize how subjective cruising experiences are to the individual. Also, there were things that influenced our experience too. I got really sick two days before we left but what are you going to do? I was doing better by the time we boarded but still coughing. My husband also started getting the same cold a couple days into the ...
My family(12 of us) returned last week(01/12/08) from a Southern Caribbean cruise on the Crown Princess out of San Juan. This was only our second cruise so it was natural to compare this with our first cruise, Carnival Miracle in the Western Caribbean. Overall we liked the Carnival cruise better.
The "on-line" check in still required about 1.5 hours of standing in various lines before boarding ...
This was a Southern Caribbean Cruise. Ports of call were. San Juan,St. Thomas, St.Kitts,Grenada,Bonnaire & Aruba.
EMBARKATION & THE SHIP
We stayed overnight at the Old San Juan Sheraton. This hotel was very nice, clean and comfortable. We had no idea that it was so close to the ship terminal which was very convenient on embarkation day as we waited for the long line to die down around 3:00 and ...
This was our first cruise ever. In the past, we have selected a fun destination, booked a hotel or resort, and then did our own thing. We have been to the Caribbean, Mexico, Hawaii, Alaska, and lots of places around the USA. We are not wealthy by any means, so we always try to find the best deal without compromising our enjoyment of our vacation. I call it "Budget Luxury". Since we were ...
Classic Southern Caribbean cruise. Arrived at departure point Friday, the day before ship embarkation. Stayed at the Sheraton in Old San Juan. It was very nice and across the street from the pier where the ship came in. Took taxi to Old San Juan from airport. You will be charged per bag, so I'm glad when they asked me how many bags we had I didn't include the carry-on bags. It's $19 to the hotel ...
My reviews are written diary style with several entries per day. Due to the length of my cruise diaries, I've decided to put in a mini index up front with some of the major topics and where you can find my notes on it: 1) Cruise background & Pre-cruise - Beginning 2) Main cabin information - Day at Sea 3) Overall ship impressions - Tortola 4) Barbados Excursion: A Taste of Barbados & Scenic Drive ...
