CROWN PRINCESS--OK, NOT GREAT!

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Crown Princess

My family(12 of us) returned last week(01/12/08) from a Southern Caribbean cruise on the Crown Princess out of San Juan. This was only our second cruise so it was natural to compare this with our first cruise, Carnival Miracle in the Western Caribbean. Overall we liked the Carnival cruise better. The "on-line" check in still required about 1.5 hours of standing in various lines before boarding ...

Not for Kids!

Each year we book a family vacation and we usually we do resorts. This year we did the princess cruise, highly not recommended for a family vacation with kids. We have a 4 and 2 year old, the 4 year old can go to the kids program but the 2 year old can not. The kids pool is only 1 foot 4 inches deep, so going swimming with the children is out of the question. We did mostly tours of the islands on ...

January 5, 2008 arrived, the day of our meeting with the Crown Princess, a stormy morning was forecasted. Many questions about "How is Princess?" were going to be answered in a matter of hours. Our transportation arrived around 8am and we got in the car to travel from western Puerto Rico to the ship's homeport, San Juan. We were dropped off at Pier #4 around 9:15am, near the Sheraton Old San Juan, ...

Here is my two cents worth on the topic of cruising with Princess. We are a couple, 42 and 50 years old. We recently went on our very first cruise on Princess. In fact, it was our very first cruise period. We did the Southern Caribbean, January 12 through January 19 out of San Juan. We booked our transfers to and from the airport and all of our air travel through Princess Air. Were we satisfied? ...

My wife and I have never cruised before, and it is not terribly likely that we'll cruise again soon. This method of travel was mostly irksome to both of us - we vastly prefer to get away from "touristy crap" and on Princess it seems like it's a nearly perfected marketing machine from start to finish chock-a-block full of touristy crap from the charmingly cheese-tastic to the horribly tacky. I ...

This is our second cruise with Princess, and the 2nd time on the Crown Princess....and we are hooked! At boarding on Saturday, we arrived at about 12:15 & waited in a very short line to embark, check baggage, etc. We turned our luggage over to the Princess reps. and left the area to explore OSJ for the afternoon. After spending a delightful afternoon (returned to the dock at 4:30 pm)we returned to ...

This was a Southern Caribbean Cruise. Ports of call were. San Juan,St. Thomas, St.Kitts,Grenada,Bonnaire & Aruba. EMBARKATION & THE SHIP We stayed overnight at the Old San Juan Sheraton. This hotel was very nice, clean and comfortable. We had no idea that it was so close to the ship terminal which was very convenient on embarkation day as we waited for the long line to die down around 3:00 and ...

4th time on Beautiful Crown Princess

This was our fourth time on the beautiful Crown Princess in the last 13 months (Nov 06, April 07, Aug 07 and Dec 08). What can I say, we like what we like! Both DH and I are 37 years old and love to snorkel. Because I have already written a review for the cruise back in August, I thought it was important to review some of the things that were different and improved (and not so improved). This ...
