This was out 22nd cruise and out 8th with Carnival. San Juan is a great place to cruise out out of. We flew in late the night before and stayed at the Radisson Ambassador Hotel. We got up took a cab to the Ship and were onboard by 12:30. Boarding was easy and well done. Our rooms were not ready so we went up to the lido deck for lunch. Lunch was typical of any embarkation day luck. After lunch we ...

Just got off the Valor yesterday and already miss it. This was my third Carnival cruise and my husbands first. I had sailed the Paradise and the Breeze. I was worried about taking my husband on an older ship since I had done the Breeze, but I was wrong. The Valor has the wow factor that the Breeze doesn't. The Breeze seemed very generic to me, the Valor is anything but.  I guess since we have both ...

First time cruisers. Loved the Valor. Intinerary was great, we saw a lot in just 7 days. Never thought we are cruise kind of people before, but we really loved it. Absolutly incredible people working on this ship! Our steward was great, people in dining areas were great, everyone working there was fantastic. Special thanks to crew at Camp Carnival! Great job with our 2 year old! Cabin was ...

We went on the cruise with a group of 37...We met up with everyone at the airport and checked in at the Embassy Suites...which took a few hours since the keys cards wouldn't work in the doors...The hotel is old..rooms expensive....had a free cocktail hour with snacks which were pretty lame..popcorn and tortilla chips with RANCH dressing....salsa wasn't good....COME ON!!! THIS IS PUERTO ...

Not The Best That Carnival Has To Offer

This was my 8th Carnival cruise. Let's set aside how ridiculous it is that Carnival changed their smoking policy after many of us had already paid for our balcony rooms. The coffee and drink machines, with the exception of two, were turned off as soon as the buffets were closed. Therefore, you had to walk quite a bit to find a drink. When they were all turned off many of them didn't work. That ...

Wife and I realized a cruise goal to visit the "Saints" with this cruise. And this itinerary met our goal very well. First a little about the ship. The valor is in amazing condition. The crew has done a great job in keeping this "old" lady looking her best. She is going into dry dock for the Carnival 2.0 "Spa" treatment in March and will come out with all the latest fun features. Boarding was ...

My family decided to come aboard the Valor for the itinerary on first week of January. After being a VIP guest with Carnival for over fifteen years, my family was certainly expecting for more. No perks for your past-guest status this time around. I got complimentary coupons for welcome drinks that we never got due to the many restrictions these carry. We separated two Ocean Suites in this cruise, ...

We are from the UK so decided to spend 4 days in Old San Juan in Puerto Rico prior to cruising. In our view, this was an excellent decision - we loved Old San Juan and whilst it is difficult to get into with a car, it is great to walk around plus we walked to the cruise terminal with our cases so avoided taxi costs. We stayed at Hotel La Terrazzo (currently no.1 on Tripadvisor) and we were not ...

7 night Cruise out of San Juan, heading south. We, a group of 6, boarded the Valor on Dec 28th. We had 2 inside cabins, Deck 9 & 10, and 1 balcony, deck 9. I’ve been on plenty of cruises, including: CCL, Princess, Oceania, Regency, Royal Caribbean, and Windstar. We boarded with no problems, but there was a little bit of a wait. We got there at noon, and there are CCL people on the street helping ...

Fabulous Cruise

We (a couple in our mid 60's) took this Carnival Valor Caribbean cruise the second week of December as a pre-Christmas treat in lieu of gifts to each other. Normally, we are loyal NCL cruisers, but when checking possible cruises, I discovered that we could either take an NCL cruise from Miami with 3 ports, or the Valor cruise with 5 ports. Fight for a lounger on the pool deck on NCL during sea ...
