Enjoyable, if not Great!

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Carnival Dream

I hadn't cruised Carnival for 6 years. I think their older ships were hard to navigate, plus kind of neon gaudy. Also, the 7 night and shorter cruises have too many kids and drinking young adults. This time I went with a friend, there were 4 of us who met for a girls trip. However, I thought probably this longer Journeys cruise, being a one way from San Juan to NOLA, would have older ...

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Dream

The ship was very nice although the décor was a little outdated - reminded me of the 70's! We stayed in an inside cabin, was adequate. The steward was fantastic as was all the other crew members. We had early dining so that we could catch many of the shows, however, since service was slow, we did miss a few shows since once they start , the doors are locked and you cannot enter late. ...

Dreaming of another cruise.

I read some of the other reviews and cannot believe we were on the same cruise. While the other reviewers were unhappy, we had a very good experience. We have taken numerous cruises on Royal Carribean, Norwegian, Holland America, and Carnival. The Jan. 14 cruise on Carnival Dream was very good. We had a balcony stateroom. The attendant, Rommel, was excellent. It would have been helpful to ...

I totally believe you get what you pay for. Being avid and seasoned cruisers (19+ times on Royal, Celebrity, Norwegian, Princess, Holland America), this has to be the worse cruise overall that my wife and I have ever been on! Our choice was made because it was a 10 day cruise. We picked up the ship in San Juan and were finished with the embarkation by noon. The welcome aboard lunch was so-so but, ...

Well I know inquiring minds want to know about the new Journey cruises, so I will share some highlights. This is our first Carnival cruise in 6 years and just my husband and I, (56 and 46 yrs old) cruised. We have been cruising Royal for the interim. Will we cruise again on Carnival? Maybe, but it is doubtful. Carnival has a decent product, our expectations were not wildly high and I would say ...

Good Ship, Great Time, mishandled processing

Review for a Caribbean - Eastern Cruise on Carnival Dream

I had a great time, found that the food was good BUT I wasn't a fan of the maitre d'. Likely the attempt at a floor show and entertainment is to induce us in the early dinner seating to move along. That was successful if not annoying. Food was above par according to my tastes. I ESPECIALLY took advantage of the Indian cuisine station aft daily. (TASTY) I had to search for the very HOT chutney and ...

Not the Best Carnival Cruise I Have Ever Taken

Review for a Caribbean - All Cruise on Carnival Dream

Even after a great price break, I would not recommend this cruise / ship to a friend. Pros * staff attitude and service orientation (excellent) Cons * Embarkation - the worst I have ever experienced (being silver or diamond did not help in any way) * Gym equipment - very poor condition / maintenance * Hot tubs - none of them were warm much less hot. To ...
