The cruise was ok. Getting on and off at ports was fairly easy and quick. There was a lot to choose from once you were off the ship. The excursions offered on board were much more expensive than if you just got off and got one of the ones they were selling at the ports. There were not as many activities as we liked on board and their "main" area was not big at all. There were not many bigger pools ...
Just came back from the 7 day Southern Caribbean on the Viva. Family of five with three teenagers.
Overall, an amazing cruise....one of the best out of many we have taken. We are used to the mega ships of Royal, and I wondered if the Viva would feel too small. I quickly realized it's fine. It really is a beautiful ship. I read many negative reviews here, but once being on the ship, I ...
The ship was nice, but it is made for seniors. I am an active senior but I spent most of my time in the room. I paid for 3 excursions and got to do none of them. In all, I lost over $1000 on excursions. They are not worth it. Just shop in the city near the ship. When reporting the excursions, the manager insinuated that we were stupid and should have known and if we didn't, it showed that we had ...
Our family of 4, 2 adults and 2 elementary aged children sailed on NCL Viva during spring break on a full ship. Prior to sailing I read mixed reviews about the NCL Viva. Our family found the ship to be modern and beautiful. It took a few days to get acclimated with the layout of the ship. Pools and public areas of the ship typically got crowded close to all aboard time when people returned to ...
Many things wrong with this ship.
Very outdated Ship, desperately needs a refurbish
Most guests older, not a lot of kids
Specialty Restaurants Giovanni's was ok, Chops was horrific I ordered a bone in rib eye so did my wife and we got, a different cut.
Staff was friendly
Windjammer was not same quality as the bigger boats
Too many disappointments
Ship should be named JUNK ...
I was on the March 16-23, 2024 Southern Caribbean Cruise with the Atlantis Events charter group. I'll try to sum up best I can:
1) The Ship: Designed for Instagram, not for comfort. From the torturous metal furniture to the rock-hard cabin beds to Deck 16 -- half of which is cluttered with hideous private cabanas that obscure all views of the sea -- to the ridiculously tiny pool to the lack of ...
Poor consumer service all around ( Stagf seemed new and didn’t know their way around the ship). Food was mediocre and the ship needs more options. The party life, well there was none, a lot of laid back older ppl on this ship. The rooms were spacious however the carpets were stained and the shower head was leaking. Though we had stops everyday, there should have been more activities on board. For ...
The overall experience is ehhh. Carnival is better, Holland is better, genuinely any other cruise line besides Margaritaville is better. The food on Norwegian is pretty bad unless you go to a restaurant (that you pay extra at), the boat is insanely crowded, the excursions always leave late because the masses don’t show up on time, and the customer service is subpar. If you want to do anything ...
The Good:
Viva is stunning! To quote Titanic, "You could still smell the fresh paint". Everything is new, shiny, and bright. The light aesthetic and decor in the staterooms, make the space look and feel much larger than previous NCL sailings, but still very familiar. The hallways and corridors felt a little larger and the woodwork/trim is just lovely. It looks expensive and well thought ...
Overall a great ship. Brand new. Food on board was delicious. Drinks were well prepare most of the time everywhere, beer on the other hand can be colder for my taste. The game room and go karts were spectacular. Entertainment for example the betelgeuse show was wayyyyy to long. Half way half of the people were sleeping and other already left. Total.of 1 hours and 45 min... almost 2 hours i think ...
