Late ship boarding.

i was on this ship 20 years ago, but the trip I just got off of was not the same experience. First of all, the room we had smelled musty, which was bad for my allergies. Our cabin steward did not leave the animal towels, which we looked forward to (not really a big deal). I really hated having to walk through the smokey casino to get to the Broadway theater every night...and that smoke seemed ...

Norweigan Viva Transatlantic from San Jan to Lisbon April 7th This was our first Transatlantic voyage. My husband Rick 62 and I 54 have 21 prior cruises and this is our second NCL. Our crazy goal was to relax with 14 ports and a ship that offered almost everything. While still recovering from Jet lag, wanted to share our thoughts/experiences from a 19-night Viva sail! This was our second ...

A great, but not perfect cruise

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Norwegian Viva

We booked this cruise because the itinerary was amazing and we thought it would be fun to try out a new ship. As for the ship, we found it perfectly satisfactory, beautifully decorated, and not as bad to navigate as other reviewers have indicated. Perhaps it is because we had three weeks to make the Viva home but we never had trouble finding our destinations using the menus by the elevators and ...

It was ok, I guess.

The cruise was ok. Getting on and off at ports was fairly easy and quick. There was a lot to choose from once you were off the ship. The excursions offered on board were much more expensive than if you just got off and got one of the ones they were selling at the ports. There were not as many activities as we liked on board and their "main" area was not big at all. There were not many bigger pools ...

Best Transatlantic cruise we've taken do far.

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Viking Sea

This was our first ocean cruise with Viking; since we usually do river cruises with Viking. We stayed in stateroom which had plenty of room for the two of us and was very clean. The crossing was fairly smooth and the weather was great most of the way. We liked most of the food that was served. I liked the sushi and special salads available every evening. My wife really like the fruit bar ...

Crossing with lots of relaxation

This was our 4th cruise with Viking and we were a little uncertain about doing a Crossing with 6 consecutive days at sea. Turned out we need not have worried. We especially enjoyed the Cooking Class, Galley Tour & Bridge Tour. Crew was exceptional as always. If we had our choice we would love some sea days and a few more port visits, but this cruise was very relaxing and we would do it again. We ...

Just came back from the 7 day Southern Caribbean on the Viva. Family of five with three teenagers. Overall, an amazing cruise....one of the best out of many we have taken. We are used to the mega ships of Royal, and I wondered if the Viva would feel too small. I quickly realized it's fine. It really is a beautiful ship. I read many negative reviews here, but once being on the ship, I ...

Great Time on NCL Viva

Our family of 4, 2 adults and 2 elementary aged children sailed on NCL Viva during spring break on a full ship. Prior to sailing I read mixed reviews about the NCL Viva. Our family found the ship to be modern and beautiful. It took a few days to get acclimated with the layout of the ship. Pools and public areas of the ship typically got crowded close to all aboard time when people returned to ...

Waist of money

The ship was nice, but it is made for seniors. I am an active senior but I spent most of my time in the room. I paid for 3 excursions and got to do none of them. In all, I lost over $1000 on excursions. They are not worth it. Just shop in the city near the ship. When reporting the excursions, the manager insinuated that we were stupid and should have known and if we didn't, it showed that we had ...

Many things wrong with this ship. Very outdated Ship, desperately needs a refurbish Most guests older, not a lot of kids Specialty Restaurants Giovanni's was ok, Chops was horrific I ordered a bone in rib eye so did my wife and we got, a different cut. Staff was friendly Windjammer was not same quality as the bigger boats Too many disappointments Ship should be named JUNK ...
