Awesome Boat, Crew and Experience. Went with friends and the time of our lives and mission accomplished! The Adventure is one of our fav ships and her sister The Explorer. Embarkation was a breeze the cuisine was admirable. We had a wonderful night in the Schooner Bar. Comedy Hypnotist was a terrific hit and the Ice Show wasn’t too bad considering a first run and standing ovations. Only disappointment was missing the dance show our first night at sea. We love the A B C Islands and look forward to visiting again. St. Maartin is always our fav, even with all the devastation around the island since last years Canes. Made sure I restocked my J W Double Black. Giovanni’s never disappoints and the Jammer was a good as ever! There’s never anything better than crashing into the crystal azure waters of the Caribbean! Spending three additional days in San Juan at what’s looks to be a great AirBNB condo and our first meal of Chinese was rediculously good. Highly Recommend. Read Less

We booked a two weeks cruise. The first week was OK, but the second week was a hugh disappointment as the exactly same menus had been offered as during the previous week, as well as the shows in the Lyric theatre, also many activities such as 'sexiest man alive' etc. The food in the main restaurant was just OK as long as you did stick to 'American way cooking'. Whenever you choose a French or Italian dish, you had been completely disappointed. -- Our two waiters Nitesh and Saheb had been extraordinarily kind, efficient and nice. Stateroom was comfortable with a pleasantly large shower (larger than many other ships), however there were no amenities at all (such as q-tips, ouatte, slippers, body lotion, shower cap etc). We also missed a kettle and the minibar was empty. You could only order 'packages' for the minibar. The balcony was quite spacious with two really comfortable chairs and a coffee table. The Adventure of the Seas shows its age but is well maintained and all outlets, WC etc are clean and nicely designed. Activities are typically 'American way' : terribly loud, with lots of shouting of the cruise directors and the guests had to shout back. For an European a real no go but obviousely the many Hispanic guests on the ship did like it. During the 'sea days' we tried the water slides, mini golf, table tennis, hot tubs what had been fun. Excursions through the Ship were completely overpriced - booking through viator.com was much cheaper and much more pleasant as there had been small groups only (minibuses) and not waiting on the pier for 30 minutes in the hot sun until departure of the tours. Shops on the ship did not invite an European for shopping: cheap stuff, but highly priced, nothing interesting, of fashion etc. Read Less

Review is from a Diamond Plus Member, staying in a Junior Suite and did not eat in the main Dining Room – used Windjammer, Promenade Café and Room Service. Tip: If you are going to book a Junior Suite – must consider 1102 or 1104 – as are all new cabins after January dry dock placed on the 11th floor (right next to fitness center) and only 6 cabins in area so completely quiet and larger than normal junior suite accommodations. Room 1106 is not quiet when sitting out on balcony as right next to it is a public area where lots of folks sit and talk in the evenings. Above these rooms are the new (12th Floor cabins w/floor to ceiling windows) and nothing is below these cabins – so very, very quiet. We will always look for these rooms on future cruises. Cruise & Ports – The right balance of cruise days and ports (this was last cruise of the season before repositioning for summer season) with only one other ship in the ports with us. We did not do any excursions as we had been to these ports many times before. Diamond Plus Benefits – no longer can you use the Suite Lounge; only Suite Guests and Pinnacles so makes it much more crowded in the Diamond Lounge; the lounge was OK and the service was at best average as one had to get up and go over to the table to get a drink as waiting on tables seemed to disappear as the cruise went on. We finally began going out to the lounge bar for better drinks and service. This was the most challenged service I’ve encountered on a Diamond Lounge. Drinks in the bars were excellent and the service was top-notch and fun. Food – believe the focus of the cruise line has turned into a “short-order” cook mentality, vice an executive chef and staff – and again was the poorest (being kind here) quality of food I’ve experienced on RCCL. When a staff can mess up Oatmeal you know something is wrong with the food equation…..I will say that we did order room service and the quality of the meal was very good. Our friends who ate in the dining room every night echoed our concerns that RCCL is cutting corners in the quality of the food served across the entire ship. The only Oasis of Quality was the days at sea where we could have lunch (make your own salad) and kraken back to the days of service and overall quality. If only for a brief second…. Cabin – again a fantastic room thanks to RCCL removing space (gym is smaller) to create more revenue generating space by adding cabins. Our cabin steward was new so service was somewhat lacking in delivery (example: put a gift for us in the wrong cabin – and the people staying there sought us out to return it to us) and follow-thru. Wifi – fast and times it had trouble connection, but overall not bad. Hot Tubs in the morning were empty on port days so best time to enjoy and then depart ships after masses have left for events. Overall we enjoyed the cabin and cruise – frequented the casino which was packed every night – but saw 1st hand the declining service model RCCL has adopted for all cruisers and is now affecting the Diamond & Diamond Plus cruisers. Sad really as RCCL is so much better than this if it chooses to do so – but driving up revenue while cutting costs is their motto I’m afraid. Read Less

Can now cross off the ABC Islands from my bucket list! Embarkation- Our flight landed in San Juan at 10:30AM on Saturday 4/28/18. Took about 1 hour to collect our luggage as we shared the baggage area with another flight that got in about the same time we did. Got to the terminal around 11:45, onboard enjoying Lunch in the WJ by 12 noon. Food - We thought all the venues we used (MDR, WJ, Cafe Promenade, and Room Service) had good, hot, and tasty variations every day -MDR: we had My Time Dinning and the first night got table 176 which is level one in Sapphire right at the bottom of the stairs. Awesome Waiter VJ and assistant Manuel. We were able to reserve this table for every night for the duration of our cruse. Even with their new menus, we always had a good choice of Fish, Chicken, Pasta, Steak, and other meat/Beef options. My favorite dish was their Beef Short Ribs which I've never had before. -WJ: Could always find a seat, food very good and varied everyday. Good waiter/drink service -Cafe Promenade: Never more than a line of 5-7 people deep anytime of day we visited. Pizza ok, really good around 2am (lol). Good tasty sandwich selections, the Greek Salad Pita was awesome! -Room Service: Did it twice, delivered in about 30-35 minutes. Was hot and tasty, also had great Cobb Salad and you get a personal size Pepperoni Pizza that was better than from the Cafe. Voom Surf and Stream - We thought it performed much better than on our HOTS cruise last June, albeit with my Droid (but not with my daughters iPhone) occasionally freezing when coming up from Deck 3 to our stateroom on deck 10. I had to disable/re-enable wi-fi to get it working Stateroom - We had a JS #1340, starboard side, mid-aft on deck 10. New carpet and drapes. 2 chairs, a lounge char, and table on our Balcony. Cabin Steward Nickoli just ok, always saw him on his phone. A couple of times, he took till 1PM to refresh our cabin. Next door stateroom #1342 tried to flush something down the toilet they shouldn't have, and blocked all flushing for about 10 nearby cabins till Maintenance could clear the blockage. A/C worked really well. On our cruise, AOS always docked Port Side with Island views. Shows - They were good. Lyric Thereat was never full, we had Invitation to Dance, Jackpot, Headliner Marcus Terell (semi-finalist on America's Got Talent) and a couple of Comedians. CD Chris Brown was alright,, I think Magic Marvin should take over as CD. Quest and Majority Rules was awesome, Hot Art Ice show was good, though they just brought on new performers and they must have being getting used to the small rink and skating during a day at sea, as there were at least 3 falls and trips. Unlimited Drink Package - Anything over $12, you had to pay the difference. Could always order a Drink and a Bottle of Water together, or order two drinks showing 2 valid DX coded Seas Passes. Plenty of Bar tenders and waiter serving drinks onboard. Islands - Fantastic!!! We did our own exploring and/or renting taxi's for the day, JEEP for the Day in Aruba (run, don't walk from renting from Royal Car Rental in Aruba), and Zip Line from Rain Forest Adventures in St Maarten. Visited the Renaissance Curacao Resort & Casino, Divi Flamingo Beach Resort & Casino in Bonaire, and the awesome Holiday Inn Resort Aruba - Beach Resort & Casino on Palm Beach, with them allowing ys to use their loungers on the beach. Our favorite experiences were renting a taxi for a 3 hour private tour in Curacao that included Hato Caves, Flamingos, and multiple stops for great pictures, finding the new Natural Cave Pool in Aruba, the Zip Line in St Maarten, that had fantastic friendly staff every where on the old Rockland estate property, and then spending some time on the Great Bay Beach and Boardwalk, renting two lounge chairs and umbrella right at the Blue Bitch Bar an Restaurant (great load Cheeseburgers and Rum Punch) Disembarkation - Waited one hour from collecting our luggage to clearing customs. Tip: Get in the line that parallels 'Gold Card' C&A members, they had two agents working who would also check non Gold members vs just one agent check all others. There was also a separate line for porters to help you clear customs. Post Cruise Stay - One night stay @ the Sheraton Old San Juan Hotel. Great location in Old San Juan withing walking distance of a lot of attractions and sites. One the 2nd floor outdoor Dinning area, got to watch AOS sail silently off into the night at 8:30, on her reposition cruise to Cape Liberty, Bayonne NJ, and during breakfast Sunday morning, see the CCL Fascination right in front of us, and the Jewel of the Seas glimmering off in the short distance from the Pan America Pier. Overall, we loved this cruise, the islands, the staff we met, new friends we found onboard, the friendly locals we met, and our ADVENTURE we had in the Southern Caribbean! Read Less

Good: Crew very friendly Cabin attendant was very nice and freshened our cabin each time after we left Tried Giovanni's one night. It was good but not great. We had an excellent server Freddy. I don't think I would go again. I don't see the value Ship was always clean Balcony cabin was large enough, but balcony was weird due to having metal on both sides. I felt closed in. Mdr for breakfast was nice. They did have a buffet in there too Sushi restaurant looked nice, but we rarely saw people eating there Dinner in mdr was just ok. Food was reheated and tough. I know that it's difficult to serve 2000+ people all at once but RCL and other cruise lines have done it in the past. We had a small table in one of the main walk ways. Bad luck for us. Not many selections for dinner in mdr Mdr was closed at lunch, except on the last sea day. Why? Breakfast in mdr was extremely slow, not enough wait staff. One morning we had to wait at least 15 min to be seated. There were empty tables, but not enough staff. Wait staff kept apologizing for the food quality. Bad: Crew always pushing to sell premium restaurants. Water slide, wave runner and Rock wall were only open a few hours. Why have them if they're not open. No show first night Muster drill took to long. All the instructions had to be repeated in multiple languages Food in windjammer repeated after 2 days. Windjammer Closed at 9:30pm .I remember the days when you could have tea and a dessert up until midnight. It seemed that they have cut back on activities during the day on board ship. Water slide, Rock wall and flowrider were only open 3 hours when in Port. No ice carving, just a few dance classes, no nightly trivia contests. Pool was very noisy with movie playing. Went to the adult pool instead. Customs was a mess. People were cutting in line and the staff said there is nothing to be done. Also the baggage Porter line moved 3x faster than the regular check out. Again not fair to the rest of us that didn’t pay extortion. We took a jeeep tour, but had a “person of size” sitting next to me, making it uncomfortable. Staff couldn’t do anything. Overall: It was a good cruise. I probably won’t come back to Rccl,, and choose princess or something nicer. Read Less

This ships staff is markedly better than normal at being committed to serving the customer. When customer preference issues arose the ships staff and supervisors worked quickly to satisfy the request. Security seized our surge protector with no warning. We are diamond level and have taken many cruises with RC and this never was a problem. However, we were provided a loaner power strip(with no surge protection) for our voyage. No lines on the ship! Embarkation and disembarking were simple, efficient, and well communicated. Coffee machine was always broken in the Diamond Club, but coffee was arranged on deck 5 through special arrangement with Starbucks. The menus were okay, but if you’ve cruised as long as we have you can really tell the decline in the sofistication of the meals and the “refined” level of service. The DAILY taco station was a welcome Suprise; however the placement of the ingredients needs retooling. You can tell that a non-taco eater designed the assembly station for tacos. The shells were served stale, the meat was at the end of the line instead of at the beginning. This required guests to get in line to get started with a shell, skip all ingredients until the end of the line, then re-enter the line to put the lettuce, tomato, cheese and other ingredients in the taco in proper order. Once we brought the stale chips to the attention of upper management they fired up an oven to heat the stale taco shells to restore crispy ness to them. However, unless you asked for this service you wouldn’t know it was available as it wasn’t advertised. If your a lover Of romaine lettuce You are OUT OF LUCK on this ship! None on the entire cruise!!!! Breakfast and lunch in the main dining room needs a complete overhaul. The menu is sparse, food is substandard and served cold! Read Less

Our first two RC cruises were on the Oasis and Allure. We were used to the "big ships", so were a bit hesitant choosing a smaller one, but this was the only ship headed to this itinerary. Once we got on board, worries were set aside once we realized the size of the ship was still quite large. This ship was renovated in January of 2018, so nothing felt outdated. All cabins have been refreshed with new carpeting and linens, as well as new furniture/couches. Although the cabinets are the same, this is a good thing because they offer a TON of space. Lots of drawers and shelving space everywhere. Also, I LOVE the fact the balcony is "enclosed". No frosted glass divider between you and your neighbor like on the Oasis class. It's pure steel and feels very private. Staff was great, and we had an excellent stateroom attendant named Wilfred. We did My Time Dining, but were fortunate to have the same wait staff every night. Lynton was a great waiter and worked incredibly hard. Food quality was also decent. We were mostly impressed with the Main Dining Room offerings (especially the appetizers) which were all very good. We ate at Izumi (new after the refurb), their sushi bar specialty restaurant, which was also very good. The staff there is SO FRIENDLY. I can't say that enough. All smiles. During the renovation, they also added two water slides, a flow rider, and updated their mini golf area. All were a lot of fun for two 27 year old best friend females. We like getting to act like kids every once in awhile. :] The only negative side to this cruise was the embarking and disembarking process specifically in the San Juan, PR terminal. There's NO AIR CONDITIONING in this large steel barn-like structure and everyone is herded around like cattle and it's very disorganized with lines in awkward places and people everywhere. I understand RC doesn't own this terminal, but that made the beginning and end of the cruise awful. Read Less

Our First cruise which we mainly selected for the destinations. There's so much room on board and there was no claustrophobic feelings, which I did expect to happen most of the time, but there are so many things to do on board that passengers were spread out all over the ship. Our compact cabin was surprisingly actually quite roomy and arranged in a practical way, and our room attendant was brilliant and provided extra daily delights with the best towel-folding! Soooooo much foooood! Lovely food for all tastes. Themed dinners were really good! Tip: if you can, plan to go to dinner or lunch about an hour after the restaurant opens as it got really busy in the first hour. I know most people want breakfast first thing so they can get off the ship first thing, but for the other meals on my next cruise, I will wait for a bit. There was also a Starbucks and Ben & Jerrys on board! My only area of concern and gripe was the Royal Caribbean trip to the BREATHTAKING SOUFRIERE & WARM MINERAL BATHS. For those of you expecting a warm soak in a natural sulphur and clay pool, this will not be the case. My family was there under 10 years ago and those man made pools were not there, and my daughter has photos of herself in the rocky clay pool!!!! We raised a complaint when we returned to the ship and are actually trying to get this trip refunded for misrepresentation. Royal Caribbean are sticking by the vendor and despite many other tourists also opting out of going into what looked like a sheep dip, with stagnant water in modern angular pools, they are insisting that the French built them a couple hundred years ago!! We suggested that RC go take a look themselves as they may not be aware of what they are promoting. We also said that they really need to include photos so people can make informed decisions about wasting their precious Shore Day watching other people go in and out of a sheep dip for 15 minutes! You have 30 minutes tops to get changed, line up for a shower first, soak in the stagnant water, get changed and meet at the souvenir shop. it was 5 hours there and back, no water was offered to the passengers in that whole time and we did not stop for food and were not advised to bring our own snacks. Long day for little rewards. Not cool ☹️☹️☹️ and as a world traveller, it literally was the worst tour I have ever done. The tour guide knew her stuff though and was very engaging and funny. Check-in disorganized with limited staff and line for 20 min. (not long but with pouring down rain and no one directing things got messy). RC didn't mention the port construction - inside is being renovated and should be completed at the end of April. Received Seapasses in under 10 minutes. . Our room was not ready until 1:30 - ate lunch in Windjammer. When the room was ready – the toilet was dirty and guest services fixed the problem quickly. Entertainment & Activities - Average - needs variety and improvement. The entertainment crew – below average and need training on basic hospitality (re. treating all guests the same). Food & Drinks - Average. Never used the specialty restaurants – ate every day at the Windjammer or used room service (menu and food presentation needs improvement) Facilities – a number of changes were made - main pool smaller, club on the 3rd floor removed to add Chops Grill and Jacuzzis, water slide and Flowrider, and more cabins added. Less seating around the pools and gets crowded a lot earlier. Overall - not my favorite cruise – Royal Caribbean needs to work on the Wow experience. Read Less

I was counting down the days until this cruise was over. I brought my 2 year old daughter with me, as well as, my mother. Getting on the ship would have been good but we dealt with some rude people telling us to "hurry up" and putting us in the wrong line and so on.This cruise ship is very hard to navigate with a stroller, wheelchair, etc. Hardly any activities for 2 year olds. The one thing she could do was swim in the kiddie section on nice days but it was too small and too crowded. On cold and windy days it was very hard to find something for her to do. Some staff members were amazing, while others were down right rude. I had tried the flow rider for the first time and the female staff member "helping" me was getting annoyed with me because I was struggling. Most of the staff in the windjammer were great. Food was okay. Seemed like the same food everyday just about. They misplaced my luggage on the last day. I waited a good 45 minutes before they found it. All while trying to keep my daughter happy. I would not recommend this ship. Read Less

Chose this cruise primarily for it's itinerary and for it's cost. This was my first time on Royal Caribbean, having cruised previously on Princess and Norwegian. Decided this would be fun and younger crowd, good since I was traveling with a friend on a girls trip and we're in our late 20's. The boat was very disappointing to me. It's an older boat by cruise ship standards and was definitely showing its age. The boat was clean however and it did offer great amenities. Embarkation in San Juan was a nightmare and the longest boarding process I've had by far, despite our "priority boarding" passes. Baggage was handled by a third party and they were very disorganized. Given the option I would have carried my own bags on board for fear of them not making it. Service on the board overall was good. Our room steward was excellent and most dining servers were very attentive. Beverage servers around the boat were not very personable and either came by every minute or every hour. The food all around was very disappointing and the specialty dining restaurants were not anything special, just a welcome relief from the main dining room. We were usually too tired for many evening activities, but there were a couple good comedians on board and the shows were on par with other cruise ship shows I've seen... Certainly not taking advantage of the talent of their performers. The spa was a little disappointing and certainly not the luxurious experience you would expect, especially for how much you pay. We went for massages and the therapists were fine, but the tables were tiny (I'm 5' and 110 lbs and felt like I was going to fall off!), so it was difficult to relax. We originally planned on getting multiple treatments, but after the first we decided to save our money and not go back. The excursions were okay. It seemed like they're were many options, but they were pretty much all the same thing, depending on the port. We enjoyed St. Thomas, St. Kitts, and Curacao, but unfortunately our stop in Aruba was cancelled due to high winds. It seems that this is not a rare occurrence and it is frustrating they don't have a plan B for this situation. Our room attendant was the only one who seemed to genuinely feel bad for us missing out and we were extremely disappointed because we were looking forward to that being the highlight of the trip. My family and I solely cruise with Royal Caribbean. We always have the best time experience. The staff is always so attentive, friendly, helpful and kind. We meet so many great, new friends at all the bars, lounges and entertainment activities. We loved the laughs at the Adult game shows, poolside challenges and scavenger hunts, the fun times at karaoke as well as the morning zumba classes. The Blue Moon nightclub was always a great way to end the night, the Resident Dj was fabulous and the bartenders were so friendly and wonderful. The food and dining expensive is always so yummy and delicious and great service all over. The wifi was the only the thing we had troubles with. We thoughts it was very expensive per person per day in our family and did not need to be. It was always a terrible connection for when we did have it or when our friends did and never worked well, yet it claims to be the fastest internet at sea. I thank the staff and captain for another amazing get-away! These memories will last a lifetime. Can't wait to book the next cruise! See you soon! Read Less

This cruise was very enjoyable, the weather was wonderful and we met lots of great people. The only thing that could be better was checking into the port in San Juan. The lines where very long and it seemed like they needed to increase the staff. The food was OK in the dining room and the buffet. The entertainment was my highlight and very good. I cruised with Royal Caribbean before and didn't enjoy the entertainment but this time they really went above and beyond. The comedian at the beginning of the the week was very funny (we need to laugh people), the ice show was very entertaining. the game shows were interactive and loads of fun, the activity director knows how to have fun, but the HIGHLIGHT for me was the Tribute to Whitney Houston. This woman Stephani Parker is the bomb! She is truly the "Diva of the Seas". Not too many people can pull off one Whitney song but she had them all down pact! A huge thank you to Stephani for her presentation, entertainment and love for a great artist with her own sweet style! My group hopes we can see her again on our next Royal Caribbean cruise. I have many complaints! 1. In this day in age, there should not be smoking in the Casino. It’s not the people playing, but people just smoking instead of going to the smoking area. In general smoking should not be allowed. 2. I had the premium beverage package and it states that Evian water was included, every time I asked, I was told it wasn’t included. I reported this to the head dining person who told me it was a mistake and he told the bar staff to give it when requested. However, that did not happen. I was made to feel like I was getting away with something when I did get a water. 3. I was very disappointed with our room steward. I was in my husbands room 9318 and we tipped him &100.00 on the first day and expecting better than normal exceptional service. It just wasn’t there. We had bottles of champagne on ice and the buckets were leaking badly and water was everywhere but I had to ask him to keep a dry towel under the buckets. They weren’t kept iced enough. I just felt his heart wasn’t in his job. 4. There needs to be more bar staff...the Solirum Pool Bar and the Pool Bar are extremely way to busy for one or two bar staff. 5. I for one will never do the Mystery Dinner. Why you feel like you need to cram so many guest into the small place is beyond me. The only people that can here are the ones in the center. It was extremely HOT, and we couldn’t hear or see. Thake our 1/2 of the seats and offer it more nights. My husband was so upset that he left, causing me to not have dinner with him. My sister also has a dairy allergy and somehow she got dairy or something was crossed contaminated because she got sick. The chairs were so crammed the our fingers got smashed. During the event the cast were going around to all the tables but no one came to us. We felt like the evel step children. 6. We were at the solarium pool and why have an adult pool if you allow kids in the pool? The lifeguard just watched them get into the pool. Also, the hot tubs shouldn’t be full of kids with their goggles on. Hot Tubs are for relaxing, not swimming. 7. The coke machines need some work, the flavor is not good. Several were always empty and out of ice. You need more of them. 8. I do have a suggestion, have a Bloody Mary Bar. Read Less

The presentation of Stephani Parker was amazing, singing songs of Witney Houston. Delicious food and the singer's on board are excellent too. Good quality music and entertainment. I think they should have more beverages packages options, for example one package for beers and wine only. I think RC had it a few years ago. And it is not fair that all people in the stateroom has to buy the same package when not everybody drinks the same things. Another detail is that the whole week I was waiting to go to Aruba and for weather rearons we couldn't go. The company didn't substitute the island for another or gave some credit for future use. I was really sad because that was my star island to visit. I think they should compensate in some way. Besides that, the experience was excellent. Read Less

The ship was clean and in the room you could smell the new carpet. The safety drill was very long and hot. they made everyone stand in rows on deck 5 while someone talks and demonstrates what to do which you couldn't see or hear a word. We ate at the Windjammer all the time and it was good. Entertainment on the ship started very late (10 pm) or later. We are morning risers so we didn't partake in that. We did a shore excursion at every port. We did snorkeling/ beach at every port. They all offered Rum Punch on the excursions. It is very good! St Maarten was a ghost town. a couple shops open but not many. St Kitts was great shopping, Antigua was fun! Do an excursionist there do wonder off the path. Read Less

Very good ship, Nice and celant Very nice itinary eith only one sea day. Excellent entertainment Especially the juggler Mike Prince Thanks to Esteban Pinnock (guests services) who resolve my luggage issues. Also a Big Wow to Arthan and Petri in the main dining room. The food was very tasty. And also to my state room stateroom attendant Nahroni Latif (perfect) We were VERY disappointed at Izumi. My wife choked on the very first bite. The sushi rice was totally dry and i am pretty sure it had been refrigerated. Cold sushi, dry rice, tasteless and salmon missing on the rolls. (I have picture to prove it). What a shame! We like Chops and Giovanni restaurant. The highlight of the cruise was definetrly the Chef’s table. Yessss! We recommend this cruise ship, and look forward to sail again in the near future with RCCL. Smaller than the Oasis but very nice as well. Read Less

We chose this cruise because we had never been to the Caribbean before and we wanted to see as much as we could. It had a very busy itinerary with 6 ports. And we thought based on reading reviews that Royal Caribbean would be a good fit for us as first time cruisers. The dining experiences at the signature dining restaurants (Giovanni's and Chops) were fantastic! Very quiet and intimate and so delicious! Fantastic service! The main dining room (Sapphire) was adequate. The food ranged from very good to not great. I liked the atmosphere and service was friendly. WE were very surprised to really like the Windjammer buffet. Didn't think we would spend much time there. But my husband loved the variety and found the quality to be superior to some of the main dining room food. We did not eat at Izumi or Johnny Rockets. The promenade snacks - pizza, cookies, sandwiches, etc. were fun options and everyone seemed to take advantage of them in the later evening when the buffet was closed. Embarkation was super smooth. We got there early (noon) and didn't wait. Every day getting on and off for island days was also very smooth if not very friendly. WE always felt like cows getting back on board - barked at by all of the herding dogs to get through security - the only unpleasant necessary thing we experienced, every day...and long waits for elevators at this time of day. We were off the ship much more than we were on...not a lot of time to do the rec activities. We did utilize hot tubs (when we could find one to fit into) and the pool once. The one sea day we had turned out to be cold, so we didn't do water slides or any other activities that day. Ship was beautiful and fun to explore. Met lots of great, often international people. So many languages spoken. People of all ages represented, although it seemed that older couples (40-60's) were probably the majority. There were several families, mostly with smaller children. This was in April. Our significant low points (which will cause us to research another cruise line for the next trip): It is far from an all inclusive experience. You are nickel and dimed to death if you want to do anything. (drinks, wifi, included daily tips and gratuities). The spa was very over priced. And people are offering you things all of the time. We tried to give everything a shot as it was our first time, so we explored the shopping seminars and the art auction. They were such scams; it was unreal. I was embarrassed for RC to have them on there. The cruise director and team were high energy but also rather immature and all of the get togethers, games, competitions went to very suggestive places, rather raunchy at times, even though there were children around and an abundance of older people. Did not seem like the right crowd for such college level humor. Not appealing to us for sure. We only utilized RC for one shore excursion at San Juan where they took our suitcases on to the airport and we explored old town. They were there when we got there, guarded outside by one girl on her cell phone. Our suitcase did get rained on and its contents were wet including the book we had in it. We utilized Shore Excursions Group for all of our other 5 excursions, and were quite pleased overall. Some were definitely better than others because of the specific guide. We had a great time on our cruise. We will probably try another line to see if we can find a better fit. Read Less

This was my fifth cruise on Adventure of the Seas and first time after upgrade of the ship. The new Suite Lounge is now on the 14th Deck and without a doubt the best Suite Lounge in the fleet, as the new Lounge was just relocated and completed 8 weeks ago. Ship appears to be very new since the upgrade and new color scheme stands out from stem to stearin. Great crew throughout and well mix of people on the cruise . Grand Suites and gold card service is the only way to go, you may pay more but the benefits and preferred lines are well worth the expense. Absolutely no waiting for anything , no lines and no hassles. The services as a gold card holder are VIP from start of the cruise to the finish as you leave the terminal. Already booked again for next year, can’t wait. Read Less

We picked this cruise for the 5 ports and only one at sea day. We started in SAN Juan as we wanted to be in the heat immediately. Although the ship is showing its age in some areas, overall it was clean, well maintained and the crew and staff were friendly, helpful and professional. The dining room service was excellent, windjammer was easy to navigate and the food was what we expected as we had cruised RC previously. Getting on the ship was easy and we liked the fact that they had a wine store on location so that you could purchase your allowed 2 bottles of wine to take on board. Our cabin was a recent new addition in March 2018 and was all new. The ship is easy to navigate and not crowded like it was on bigger ships. As expected the ship allows smoking within the casino which is really the only negative thing we encountered. Entertainers were fun to watch and varied each night. Our port days allowed for smooth departing and returns and overall were well worth the visit. St.Marrtan is in rough shape and we spent most of our time at the beach. All of our shore excursions were booked privately as we found that when booking with RC you pay quite a lot more for the same excursions. Our sea day was filled with trying out the activities such as the water slides, mini golf, table tennis, hot tubs and watching the belly flop contest. Overall we had a great time and would consider doing the same size ship again in the future. Read Less

I haven't sailed with Royal Caribbean in a number of years and was anxious to try one of their newer ships, Adventure of the Seas. I had not been to 3 of the 4 destinations before and that was a factor in choosing this particular sailing from April 7-14, 2018. I had not been to St. Kitts before and was excited to check out the best possibilities for excursions that would interest me. I found one on their website that offered a 30 mile round trip train ride around the island for $109 pp. My friend and I took the excursion, and were surprised that the van driver told us the train portion had been reduced to 18 miles and a partial island tour due to the fact previous customers complained they got back to the ship and missed lunch. One woman narrated from the top of the first railroad car, attempting to tell people in five cars what we were seeing, but due to the loud creaking of the railcars, and the poor quality of the audio system, we couldn't hear anything about St. Kitts. Needless to say, I was very disappointed. When I approached the Shore Excursion Desk and requested a refund, I was told I could get a 20% discount but not a refund. Freddy wasn't a bit concerned about my situation and neither was his manager. A reputable company would have handled this situation differently instead of protecting a vendor who doesn't provide what's paid for. The food in the dining room was never warm. Our waiter made numerous mistakes the first night and kept apologizing to the point where he was annoying. The food at the buffet wasn't much better with kids touching and putting back food items. An ideal buffet would be like Holland America where staff doles out portions of food and guests don't touch anything. Activities were geared toward younger families and children with not much to do for seniors. The theater was large with comfortable seating, but we were surprised that not one show was even close to being half filled. The only good show was the ice performance. It will be a long time, if ever, that I'll sail with Royal Caribbean again. Read Less

Wanted to travel to the eastern Caribbean and have traveled before with Royal Caribbean cruise lines. Accommodations were excellent, clean room and well maintained. The room steward was excellent on keeping it well stocked and clean. The food on the entire ship was unbelievable. Main dinning room was just like a five ***** star restaurant. Food selection was more than enough. The Buffet was also in for the same rating with the variations and choice of foods. Carving stations with a great selection. can't say enough good things about the entire experience. Shows with a full orchestra singing, dancing and Ice shows that rivals any thing you could see in any major city Sports of all types , Basketball rock climbing wall and wave action surfing pool. all types of entertainment. A couple of years back we went with another cruise line and it was miserable I am now a devoted Royal Caribbean customer for any cruise I take in the future . GREAT STAFF - GREAT CRUISE - GREAT ADVENTURE. Read Less

This was a family vacation with a group of 10 of us exploring the Caribbean. Some were experienced cruisers-the rest this was the first experience. Manoj and Dinah in the main dining room were FANTASTIC! They took such good care of us. Maria was our cabin attendant and she did a great job as well. Loved the towel animals! The team in the Windjammer was pleasant and made sure we had what we needed. So attentive! The food was delicious and the portion sizes just right. The shore excursions were fun and well organized. Watching a movie, outside, by the pool-under a clear sky with sparking starts--lovely experience. As someone who's worked in the hospitality business for over 30 years, it was a pleasure being taken care of by such wonderful team members. Everyone I encountered was pleasant and eager to make our experience wonderful. Great job team! I'm sure you'll see me again sometime. Read Less

This particular cruise had port of call that I want it to visit and spend some great time with my 19 years daughter. My friends booked it already and suggested to travel with them, since one of them had B-day. So we did it! -TERMINAL CHECK POINT I asked to give cash or credit card at the “registration” point and the lady said : no, you have to do it on board, at front desk. Very unprofessional for not even offering me to do it, like I was every single time on any previous cruise. - DELUXE BEVERAGE PACKAGE At first look it seems to be pricy but it is worth every cent, but for paying 750$ for 2 person, it is not nice at all what you get as “service”. Drinks are great, some staff make mistake, bar staf very, very slow but even that not so big deal as much as reaction, body langvige and attitude, once bar staf figures out that you have a package- for me, that was very disrespectfull. I even got “lesson” in the caffe shop how to order my caffe next time. Shocked... -POOL AREA i couldn’t figure it out, who is actually in charge, but port side deck 11 by smoking area, we have been used same table several times a day, every single day, and nobody was cleaning plates, but us. Unbelievable ... CASINO ( sanitizer ) Out of 7 days cruise, 6 days hand sanitizers at the front and back of the casino were empty. Last day, sea day - they were filed up. I guess I was having to high expectations of this cruise line, and if it was not for some eseptional and attractive ports of call, I would take a second thought to go back. Maybe is just this particular ship or current mngmnt, I don’t know, but definitely needs improvement. Read Less
