By friend recomendation. the service and attendant are great. The activity during the day and night for all passenger and the security onboard. The organization are incredible. The food and drink's are delicius. The sport activity on deck 12 it's very entertaining. I recomenden to any one. In the begining I was nervous because I never be in a cruise, but when start the activities everything change. The experience is unforgettable and I said again thak's Lalu (Windjjamer Wailer), Andy and Dalicia (Housekeeping) for the compromise with the passenger. We enjoy our vacation and this is not the last, we going for more. I'm not sure if is in the same ship but I will. For next time I would like to go for more days because 5 days and one island to visit is not an off, but we enjoyed anyway. Again, thak's for all crew attendat, (pool bar, sport activities, etc.) Read Less

We took a January cruise on the beautiful Oasis and the Adventure is every bit as beautiful but understandably smaller. I was not disappointed. I specifically chose this 5-day cruise from San Juan, PR to Bayonne, NJ to enable me to reach Diamond status. I needed 9 cruise points and the Jr. Suite was priced low enough to book which gave me double cruise points for the suite. This was my first suite and I was amazed how much storage was available. We had cabinets we didn't even use thanks to the large walk-in closet with a wall of shelves! Also a tub/shower. We flew in to San Juan from Dallas arriving around 1pm. We opted to take a taxi from the airport to the pier for $26 set fare and were able to split this cost with another couple we saw at baggage claim. Easy embarkation and departed for St. Maarten at 8pm. The cruise made only this one stop and we took a $6 cab ride from the pier to the courthouse in Philipsburg, and from there walked up the beach "boardwalk" to a bar called "Pirates 'n Paradise" and when we saw the Ohio State flag and sign, we had to stop since my wife is an alumni. We sat at the bar overlooking the boardwalk and the beautiful beach for a beer and some great people watching. The next 3-days were at sea and we enjoyed the food and entertainment provided. The ice show was spectacular and the other singers, dancers, orchestra, comedian, and juggling act were great to watch. Advertised activities were popular for the variety of guests. Food was good. We usually ate breakfast at Windjammer and coffee was excellent (strong) whereas one day, we ate breakfast at main dining room where sit-down service was slow and coffee was weak. Main Dining room dinner was good and service generally excellent. We only had two gripes. On the last sea day, we could not access our in-room TV services menu to review our bill. When it was delivered the final morning, there were two errors overcharging us $222 which required we wait in a long line at guest services to get resolved. They could have used more representatives to help. After that the walk-off disembarkation in Bayonne, NJ went smoothly until we exited the cruise terminal building for a fairly long walk to the Taxi shed in a parking lot across the potholed street. We had looked online earlier for taxi fares rather than using Royal Caribbean bus service, and the taxi was "supposed" to be about $38 from the terminal to Newark airport which would have been a good deal. There was a severe shortage of Taxis. We were told to get in the only one there and he left without us. They called for another cab and one finally arrived and as we were loading luggage we were told the fare would be $65 plus toll. We went ahead and took the ride for $70. The RCI bus would have been about $59. By the way, Uber and Lyft were also a possibility, but we never expected the complete lack of taxis and the "fare jacking". I only wish we could have had someone to share the taxi with us. Read Less

We traveled on Anthem last year and it was horrible, crew was rude we decided to give Royal one more chance and traveled on Adventure this time. Wow what a huge difference. Wonderful experience and crew was all about customer service The crew actually was smiling and happy which is very contagious. Keep up the good work Adventure we will definitely be back on that ship. The last night at the adult karaoke there were a group of kids heckling the performers. Many people walked out. Just when I wondered why Royal was allowing this the person in charge reminded everyone that we are there to have fun and only kind words should be used. Yay!! That put an end to the heckling without punting out the hecklers. Good job Royal. We flew to San Juan to board the ship. Stoped at St Martin (Dutch side) for a few hours then had 3 full days of sailing and the crew was a delight Read Less

Awesome Boat, Crew and Experience. Went with friends and the time of our lives and mission accomplished! The Adventure is one of our fav ships and her sister The Explorer. Embarkation was a breeze the cuisine was admirable. We had a wonderful night in the Schooner Bar. Comedy Hypnotist was a terrific hit and the Ice Show wasn’t too bad considering a first run and standing ovations. Only disappointment was missing the dance show our first night at sea. We love the A B C Islands and look forward to visiting again. St. Maartin is always our fav, even with all the devastation around the island since last years Canes. Made sure I restocked my J W Double Black. Giovanni’s never disappoints and the Jammer was a good as ever! There’s never anything better than crashing into the crystal azure waters of the Caribbean! Spending three additional days in San Juan at what’s looks to be a great AirBNB condo and our first meal of Chinese was rediculously good. Highly Recommend. Read Less

This ships staff is markedly better than normal at being committed to serving the customer. When customer preference issues arose the ships staff and supervisors worked quickly to satisfy the request. Security seized our surge protector with no warning. We are diamond level and have taken many cruises with RC and this never was a problem. However, we were provided a loaner power strip(with no surge protection) for our voyage. No lines on the ship! Embarkation and disembarking were simple, efficient, and well communicated. Coffee machine was always broken in the Diamond Club, but coffee was arranged on deck 5 through special arrangement with Starbucks. The menus were okay, but if you’ve cruised as long as we have you can really tell the decline in the sofistication of the meals and the “refined” level of service. The DAILY taco station was a welcome Suprise; however the placement of the ingredients needs retooling. You can tell that a non-taco eater designed the assembly station for tacos. The shells were served stale, the meat was at the end of the line instead of at the beginning. This required guests to get in line to get started with a shell, skip all ingredients until the end of the line, then re-enter the line to put the lettuce, tomato, cheese and other ingredients in the taco in proper order. Once we brought the stale chips to the attention of upper management they fired up an oven to heat the stale taco shells to restore crispy ness to them. However, unless you asked for this service you wouldn’t know it was available as it wasn’t advertised. If your a lover Of romaine lettuce You are OUT OF LUCK on this ship! None on the entire cruise!!!! Breakfast and lunch in the main dining room needs a complete overhaul. The menu is sparse, food is substandard and served cold! Read Less

Our first two RC cruises were on the Oasis and Allure. We were used to the "big ships", so were a bit hesitant choosing a smaller one, but this was the only ship headed to this itinerary. Once we got on board, worries were set aside once we realized the size of the ship was still quite large. This ship was renovated in January of 2018, so nothing felt outdated. All cabins have been refreshed with new carpeting and linens, as well as new furniture/couches. Although the cabinets are the same, this is a good thing because they offer a TON of space. Lots of drawers and shelving space everywhere. Also, I LOVE the fact the balcony is "enclosed". No frosted glass divider between you and your neighbor like on the Oasis class. It's pure steel and feels very private. Staff was great, and we had an excellent stateroom attendant named Wilfred. We did My Time Dining, but were fortunate to have the same wait staff every night. Lynton was a great waiter and worked incredibly hard. Food quality was also decent. We were mostly impressed with the Main Dining Room offerings (especially the appetizers) which were all very good. We ate at Izumi (new after the refurb), their sushi bar specialty restaurant, which was also very good. The staff there is SO FRIENDLY. I can't say that enough. All smiles. During the renovation, they also added two water slides, a flow rider, and updated their mini golf area. All were a lot of fun for two 27 year old best friend females. We like getting to act like kids every once in awhile. :] The only negative side to this cruise was the embarking and disembarking process specifically in the San Juan, PR terminal. There's NO AIR CONDITIONING in this large steel barn-like structure and everyone is herded around like cattle and it's very disorganized with lines in awkward places and people everywhere. I understand RC doesn't own this terminal, but that made the beginning and end of the cruise awful. Read Less

Our First cruise which we mainly selected for the destinations. There's so much room on board and there was no claustrophobic feelings, which I did expect to happen most of the time, but there are so many things to do on board that passengers were spread out all over the ship. Our compact cabin was surprisingly actually quite roomy and arranged in a practical way, and our room attendant was brilliant and provided extra daily delights with the best towel-folding! Soooooo much foooood! Lovely food for all tastes. Themed dinners were really good! Tip: if you can, plan to go to dinner or lunch about an hour after the restaurant opens as it got really busy in the first hour. I know most people want breakfast first thing so they can get off the ship first thing, but for the other meals on my next cruise, I will wait for a bit. There was also a Starbucks and Ben & Jerrys on board! My only area of concern and gripe was the Royal Caribbean trip to the BREATHTAKING SOUFRIERE & WARM MINERAL BATHS. For those of you expecting a warm soak in a natural sulphur and clay pool, this will not be the case. My family was there under 10 years ago and those man made pools were not there, and my daughter has photos of herself in the rocky clay pool!!!! We raised a complaint when we returned to the ship and are actually trying to get this trip refunded for misrepresentation. Royal Caribbean are sticking by the vendor and despite many other tourists also opting out of going into what looked like a sheep dip, with stagnant water in modern angular pools, they are insisting that the French built them a couple hundred years ago!! We suggested that RC go take a look themselves as they may not be aware of what they are promoting. We also said that they really need to include photos so people can make informed decisions about wasting their precious Shore Day watching other people go in and out of a sheep dip for 15 minutes! You have 30 minutes tops to get changed, line up for a shower first, soak in the stagnant water, get changed and meet at the souvenir shop. it was 5 hours there and back, no water was offered to the passengers in that whole time and we did not stop for food and were not advised to bring our own snacks. Long day for little rewards. Not cool ☹️☹️☹️ and as a world traveller, it literally was the worst tour I have ever done. The tour guide knew her stuff though and was very engaging and funny. My family and I solely cruise with Royal Caribbean. We always have the best time experience. The staff is always so attentive, friendly, helpful and kind. We meet so many great, new friends at all the bars, lounges and entertainment activities. We loved the laughs at the Adult game shows, poolside challenges and scavenger hunts, the fun times at karaoke as well as the morning zumba classes. The Blue Moon nightclub was always a great way to end the night, the Resident Dj was fabulous and the bartenders were so friendly and wonderful. The food and dining expensive is always so yummy and delicious and great service all over. The wifi was the only the thing we had troubles with. We thoughts it was very expensive per person per day in our family and did not need to be. It was always a terrible connection for when we did have it or when our friends did and never worked well, yet it claims to be the fastest internet at sea. I thank the staff and captain for another amazing get-away! These memories will last a lifetime. Can't wait to book the next cruise! See you soon! Read Less

This cruise was excellent in all the venues, food, service, shows and music. The stand up comedy show was ok, not great. The presentation of Stephani Parker was amazing, singing songs of Witney Houston. Delicious food and the singer's on board are excellent too. Good quality music and entertainment. I think they should have more beverages packages options, for example one package for beers and wine only. I think RC had it a few years ago. And it is not fair that all people in the stateroom has to buy the same package when not everybody drinks the same things. Another detail is that the whole week I was waiting to go to Aruba and for weather rearons we couldn't go. The company didn't substitute the island for another or gave some credit for future use. I was really sad because that was my star island to visit. I think they should compensate in some way. Besides that, the experience was excellent. Read Less

Very good ship, Nice and celant Very nice itinary eith only one sea day. Excellent entertainment Especially the juggler Mike Prince Thanks to Esteban Pinnock (guests services) who resolve my luggage issues. Also a Big Wow to Arthan and Petri in the main dining room. The food was very tasty. And also to my state room stateroom attendant Nahroni Latif (perfect) We were VERY disappointed at Izumi. My wife choked on the very first bite. The sushi rice was totally dry and i am pretty sure it had been refrigerated. Cold sushi, dry rice, tasteless and salmon missing on the rolls. (I have picture to prove it). What a shame! We like Chops and Giovanni restaurant. The highlight of the cruise was definetrly the Chef’s table. Yessss! We recommend this cruise ship, and look forward to sail again in the near future with RCCL. This was my fifth cruise on Adventure of the Seas and first time after upgrade of the ship. The new Suite Lounge is now on the 14th Deck and without a doubt the best Suite Lounge in the fleet, as the new Lounge was just relocated and completed 8 weeks ago. Ship appears to be very new since the upgrade and new color scheme stands out from stem to stearin. Great crew throughout and well mix of people on the cruise . Grand Suites and gold card service is the only way to go, you may pay more but the benefits and preferred lines are well worth the expense. Absolutely no waiting for anything , no lines and no hassles. The services as a gold card holder are VIP from start of the cruise to the finish as you leave the terminal. Food selection was more than enough. The Buffet was also in for the same rating with the variations and choice of foods. The team in the Windjammer was pleasant and made sure we had what we needed. So attentive! The food was delicious and the portion sizes just right. The shore excursions were fun and well organized. Watching a movie, outside, by the pool-under a clear sky with sparking starts--lovely experience. From the boarding process through baggage handling and the first hours of our trip we were extremely surprised and satisfied. It only got better from the food to the family environment to safety and security. Did I mention the food quality and delight? Off the hook!! Highly recommend the Royal Caribbean lines for anyone’s cruising experience. Cleanliness is the word on the conditions maintained. The concern and coaching for sanitary conditions I am certain contribute to the maintenance of health on board for cruisers and staff alike. Well done! We were also impressed with the variety of activities, the entertainment in and around the immediate pool areas and the supportive and smiling staff. I remain hard pressed to imagine anything negative about our first trip and look forward to our next opportunity to join some 4500 best friends we have yet to meet! The entertainment and activities were super fun I think there was a little bit for everyone. I was amazed on how fast and easy we embaked and diembarked the service in general was an A+. My only regret is that Royal Caribbean was mostly an all inclusive type of cruise were only few things were to be paid seprately like pictures package, liquor, island excursions.... I disagree there were that enough water station or having to pay for drinking water and the internet should be free. It was really had to get anything to drink unless you buy your drinking package with I found to be too expensive. Read Less

Overall this trip may have been my favorite cruise on Royal Caribbean. One thing I really liked is that we went down to San Juan a day before our ship left to get a full day 1 of our cruise. We stayed at the Hampton Inn and had good service. The next morning at 11:00 we left our hotel and got an Uber. You can not get on the ship before 12:00. Because we are Emerald members we got to skip the big embarkation line. The ship had been recently updated with a FloRider and waterslides. The fun waterslides had a clear plastic part so you could see over the ocean. Everything was very clean and updated to a modern level. We had better entertainment on Oasis and Allure, but the comedians were very good. As always, the food was spectacular and came in great portions. On my 4 cruises with Royal Caribbean, I have never seen a unhappy crew member. They are all so nice! I would never go to a different cruise line. But I would gladly go again! Read Less

Initially recommended by to me by a friend, they made us aware of Royal Caribbean and the great selection of cruises available. The overall cruise experience superseded my expectations. The destinations were a great selection of Caribbean islands to visit. The onboard entertainment and organised events like the ice skating shows and musicals were fantastically organised and choreographed, the food (both buffet and a la carte) were excellent standard and the service was truly second to none. We found the ship to be incredibly clean. Our cabin was tidied and cleaned twice daily. The facilities were clean. The staff across the ship went over and above expected levels to make our cruise experience a special experience. The staff also made a big effort with our children and made their experience a special one also. It was a truly wonderful week made better by the service levels given to all guests on board. We chose this cruise through relatives who have travelled on several Royal Caribbean cruises. After many questions being asked and answered, we experienced a wonderful time. The entertainment was great and the food was much better than expected. Our stateroom attendant kept the room clean and was very attentive. The dining room staff was very courteous and service was prompt. One of the bars (Champagne Bar) was very light on the drinks and for $12 per mixed drink, there was a lot to be desired, however, the other bars were on point. The ports that we visited were really very close to being back to normal, St Maarten was the most heavily damaged and many places were not open and several homes and businesses will take years to recover, if ever. The airport and activities, beaches, bars surrounding the airport were open and thriving. Puerto Rico was coming along well, however, there are still several homes with blue tarps covering the roofs and sadly, the rain forest was 70% destroyed. The other islands visited, St Kitts, St Lucia, Antigua and Barbados were untouched by the hurricane damage. Read Less

This was our first cruise. We didn't know what to expect. We are HOOKED! The ability to see six different islands and only unpack once is great. With about 3,000 people on the ship, we thought it would be crowded. It never felt that way! The efficiency of the ship design, from the staterooms to dining to events, is top shelf. Pro Tips: get a balcony. It makes all the difference! Being able to see the ocean, watch as the ship enters/exits ports, and if someone in your room is up early/late, the balcony is a nice haven. You don't need the full beverage package unless you drink a lot = more than three alcohol drinks per day. The cafe on the Promenade deck is a key eat/coffee spot for early/late snacks. Use it! One Con: we didn't take time to do 1/2 of the events available! A few extra days at sea may have helped us. A two week cruise next time? Hmmm.... Read Less

Sailed on the Adventure of the Seas, out of San Juan. Checking in at San Juan was easy, even though there were a lot of people there and in line, we (my wife & I) were through it all and on the ship in 15-20 minutes. We had a balcony room. Room was clean, on 7th deck. Bathroom wasn't real big, but enough room and everything was clean and worked fine. We had our bed set up as a king bed, also had a sofa in our room. Closet, desk, with TV and fridge, plenty of room for the 2 of us. We were mid-ship, 7th floor was quiet, not too far from anything. The dining room for us was on 4th floor, the Windjammer buffet dining room was on deck 11, and Royal Prominaide was on deck 5. We walked the Prominaide every day/evening, and often stopped at the cafe/starbucks to get drinks or a snack, was included with our beverage package. Even ate a light breakfast there one morning, but they didn't have much out for breakfast. They almost always had small sandwiches and pizza by the slice. Was my first cruise, 2nd for my wife (went with her Mom a few years earlier). We had a great time, food was excellent, we never paid extra for any of the meals, the main dining every night was great. We had our own table, often ordered several appetizers and desserts. Service was excellent. We had a non alcoholic drink package, called the refreshment package. We ordered non alcoholic pina coladas, mudslides, and other drinks. Bar tenders were good about helping us pick drinks. At times the bars on the ship were busy, not too bad, and you could sit out by the pools and get wait service when you wanted too. We did an excursion at every port. I would recommend doing your excursion early in the day, then return to the ship, clean up, eat, change etc, then do something else in the afternoon like shop or go to beach in the afternoon. St Thomas & St Kitts are kind of similar Islands, mountainous. We did a sightseeing tour on St Thomas. Went way up to the highest point. Was a nice view, and made a couple stops where we could get souvenirs or drinks. Great views, since we did a morning trip, left us time to shop downtown in the afternoon. For us, we ended the tour at the downtown area, then did some shopping. We got a taxi ride back to the port area for $4 per person, was easy to find a ride. At St Kitts we did the kayak and snorkeling tour. Was well run, traveled to the far side of the island, and kayaked with the current, down the beach. Wasn't too windy or rough, so it was nice. They served us a few pieces of fruit and some water after we finished, before the bus took us back to the port. Shopping was walking distance from the port, the vendors have all mostly the same stuff, and are a little over eager to get you to look at their stuff. Day 3 We had a fun day at sea, the belly flop competition is a must see, pretty funny. I have to mention that our cruise director, Mercedes, was awesome and always entertaining. Day 4 - Curacao is a very nice island and port, free wifi was available. The beautiful town is walking distance to the port. They have a good economy, so the merchants weren't always after you like other islands. We did an aqua boat tour and snorkeling there. It was ok, but it is always very windy in Curacao. The mini boats worked ok, the tour could have been a little more organized, and the seas were pretty rough. I was glad we weren't in a kayak like some of the others, but wished we were on Jet skis. The snorkeling was crowded, but was in a good area with plenty to see. Aruba is a small, dry island with great beaches. We did the best of Aruba tour, so we saw most of the famous spots on the island. We had a nice air conditioned tour bus, with Juan Jacobs as our driver. He was very good. We did the aloe factory tour as part of it, not a lot to see but informative. Chance to buy aloe products at their store after the tour. Once we got back to the port, we changed on the ship, and then walked to the bus stop to take a bus to the beaches. Took a little asking to get on the correct bus, but was only $5.20 for both of us to take the bus. We got off at Eagle beach. If I would do it again, I would have stayed on and gone farther away from the port, more toward the California lighthouse. The beaches are similar, but better snorkeling farther down the beach. We could have taken a bus back to the port (9:30pm on board time), but we opted to walk back along the beach. Some of it had a boardwalk, and the sun was setting, so it was really pretty. It's a couple miles, so packing light was important. We like to walk, could easily take the bus at any point, there are a lot of places it stops. Read Less

Windjammer was extremely busy during the hours it was open..........so MANY food options. I cannot imagine anyone being disappointed in the quantity of food and the variety. If you left the Windjammer hungry, it was your fault! Staff throughout the ship was friendly and very accommodating. Cruise was chosen because of the tour program in the southern caribbean sea. Service ist simply excellent and much better than at european cruise lines. Same for for food and beverages, just outstanding for serving such a mass of people. Organization skills of the staff are very good. Shows and evening program is very focused on american audience and their expectations (for example: a US comedian is not understandable for a non-english native speaker). Some Trivias or games are quite irritating for europeans and meet just the american taste. In general cruising with an american cruise line ris very customer focuced with a highly friendly staff. At least one contact person should be able to speak other languages as english or spanish. Heard from a few german guests, they felt a little bit "lost", as they are not fluently in english. As passionate dancers we were a little disappointed about the program, the dance floor as well as the bands. To high focus on latin music. The shopping focus, to make more and more money beside the booked cruise, permanent offers etc. are somewhat annoying. We wnat to enjoy our holidays and not shop during day and night. But.all in all a great cruise experience (we did more than 20 cruises with other cruising companies). Read Less

We actually did B2B cruises Feb 24 and Mar 3. We chose these cruises for the many port days. There was 6 kids in our family group and they had a blast. Didn't go to any of the kid's clubs, there was plenty for them to do on the ship without the clubs. Some of the family need gluten free food and they found enough in the Windjammer. They could also order GF pizza and pancakes there. Tried the dining room a few times and even with ordering their GF meal the night before it still took 2 hrs to get .Kids don't want to wait that long. Food at the WJ was ok, we had no problems with it. The kids loved all the activities including the flow rider, Rock wall, water slides, mini golf, pools etc. If you have a kid that is less than 42" make sure you bring swim diapers for him/her for the small water slide, even if they're potty trained. No one is allowed in that little yellow slide area of Splashaway Bay without swim diapers. We only went to the evening entertainment a few nights but did enjoy the ice skating show and magician. Watched a few movies on the pool deck at night. Read Less

We choose this cruise because of the itinerary and the islands. The Adventure of the Seas is a very nice ship. The entertainment was enjoyable and the ice show is one you should not miss . We had the privilege to visit St Marrten, St Kitts, St Lucia, Antigua and Barbados. All of these islands were beautiful and they were happy that we came to visit. The food in the dining room was good and so was the Windjammer. We didn't try any of the specialty restaurant. There was always something to do. The embarkation was less than 10 minutes to get on the ship also the disembarkation was just as quick. If you don’t want to stand in the lineup to go through security I would suggest getting a porter to go straight through and avoid the line ups. It took us less than 15 minutes. Overall we had a great vacation with Royal Caribbean International. Read Less
