San Francisco-Vancouver

Review for Star Princess to Pacific Coastal

May 9, 2015 we travelled on repositioning cruises from Vancouver to San Francisco (3 day) on the Golden Princess with return on the Star Princess (2 day). Both of these ships are laid out the same and have very little impressive interior or exterior design. The atrium is only 3 stories and very small compared to other cruise lines we have enjoyed. We used assigned dining and found the menus to ...

Star Princess D722 Built 2003, Last Dry dock 2011 2,516 - 3,115 Passengers We booked a Princess trip to Hawaii and a Celebrity trip to Alaska to compare them. Celebrity’s Concierge Class amenities almost made up for the 100 fewer square feet. The scooter drivers on Princess were a lot less rude than on some ships we’ve cruised. We spent two pre-nights in Marriott Fishermen’s Wharf ...

Itinerary great, Princess poor

Just back from two week cruise to Hawaii on Star Princess. It is our fourth time on Princess and the second on the Star. We are regular cruisers in excess of 20 cruises in total and until now never needed to complain about a cruise company. Although the ship and itinerary were good and overall we had a pleasant trip we have decided that we would never go with Princess again and fully recommend ...

15 Days and Nights with Princess

This was our 1st cruise so I don't have anything to compare it to but I will give you my thoughts. This cruise was 15 days from SF to 4 stops in Hawaii, 1 stop in Ensenada and back to SF. For our 10 year wedding anniversary. The 1st 2 days the ship was quiet due to rough seas. It felt like a ghost town. We thought it was going to stay like that since we didn't know any better. Glad it ...

My first cruise

Review for Star Princess to Hawaii

This was my first cruise and my first trip to Hawaii. I traveled with a friend and we split the cost of a balcony room on the lido deck. I live in SF. A friend took the Bon Voyage Experience which allowed all of us to board at 11am. It took so long to board that my friend missed the tour that goes along w/the experience. We arrived at the port around 10:30am and waited while our friend ...

I felt compelled on writing this after i read the review from a fellow passenger. First, our background, we are in our mid-50's and this was our 47th cruise. Yes, the cruise to hawaii does have a lot of seniors, especially when the kids are in school (which i prefer). But to blast princess for it is not fair. Read the reviews, and you will know that this is the case. we had a wonderful ...

Not for the young 75 or older only.

Looking for a fun time on a ship? Look somewhere else, unless of course you are 75 years of age or older. My goodness it was like a floating retirement home. They have valet parking for walkers and scooters in the dining and entertainment areas. The itinerary included knitting, lay making and napkin folding. Very little music at the pool. Every once in a while a band would come out but would only ...

We are a couple, in the 55-65 year age range that love to cruise, especially when that cruise embarks in our home port of San Francisco. This was our 45th cruise overall, our 17th on Princess and our 3rd cruise on the Star Princess. There was a mix of all ages on this cruise with a number of children (they all seemed to be pretty well behaved), a large number of elderly and mostly people within ...

We have been cruising since early in the 1990's, and have cruised with RCCL, NCL, HAL, Celebrity and Carnival but this was our first cruise on Princess. Our favorite is HAL, and would sail again on all, with the exception of Carnival. We chose this cruise for 2 primary reasons - 1st it was a round trip from San Francisco so were were able to get to the port without spending an entire day ...

After spending two nights in SF which we really enjoyed we embarked the star which was easy, quick & smooth, disembarkation was even better with Princess Staff helping you every step of the way! Our cabin B702 was just what we expected but found the shower very small!! Also, our bed linen was very old, discoloured with holes!! Our steward Bristan did his job very well & we never at to ask for ...
