What has happened to Princess??? By far our WORST! cruise.

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Ruby Princess

This was our 37th cruise; we are Diamond elite or above on Princess, Cunard, RCCL, Celebrity and Silver Sea. I did not realize this was the first sailing since the ship was in dry dock following running into the pier earlier in 2023. The public spaces were not refurbished much, new carpet and bedding in some areas and cabins, and adding a video arcade for children in the casiono were all we ...

This ship is a disaster

Ruby Princess needs a complete overhaul of her plumbing etc. There were extensive problems with toilets not working, flooding in some cabins and even the kitchen got flooded. There was a fire in the crew area on the last night as well as a sudden listing to one side. Several people were picked up by ambulances when we got to Ft Lauderdale in the morning. Don't know what that was related ...

We choose Princess because it sailed out of San Francisco. We were able to take the Amtrac train out of Fresno, CA at 6:00 AM and were in front of the Buffet at 11:30 AM. Embarkation was the easiest of all our cruises. Luggage taken right from the Uber along the curbside. Every sea day was a hour practice on the steel drums for 30 shipmates. Leader of the drums, Wilson, was great. Much ...

Cunard line, terrible

Review for a Transatlantic Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

Our first time on Cunard line, Queen Elizabeth, it will be our last, definitely no where near as good as what I expected. The staff on board, we’re amazing ( but let’s face it they are working for tips) the staff who wore the white uniforms, didn’t even acknowledge you, they would look the other way or chat with the other person they were with so they didn’t have to acknowledge you. The ...

San Francisco to Fort Lauderdale via Panama Canal: Beautiful Ship, but Surprisingly Low Standards

Review for a Panama Canal & Central America Cruise on Queen Elizabeth

I chose this voyage because I wanted to go through the Panama Canal, and also sail on the Queen Elizabeth for the first time. I am a solo traveler. I had already sailed on the Queen Victoria once, and the Queen Mary 2 three times. I have been fascinated by ocean liners since I was ten years old, and this is why I am drawn to Cunard ships. Cunard has always taken pride in carrying on the ...

Bad ship

This cruise for 20 days had lots of problems. Most importantly, the temperature on board was uncontrolled. The ship was freezing. People wore sweaters everywhere. The polo grill was so cold you couldn't eat in the front area. We were told that the AC is broken and the thermostats don't work. That also includes the cabins. The AC is either on or off with no controls. the shore excursions were ...

My friend’s strong recommendation. Just want to compare with other cruise lines and plan for future cruise planning. There is no veranda room available when I booked this cruise in May 2023. It is hard to compare Apple to Apple with other cruise lines of the same cabin class. For sure I won’t cruise on Oceania small ship again as the entertainment is less attractive and almost the same ...

Too many unusual regulations and charges.

I had chosen the Insignia to do something that was closer to home in the USA. The dates of this Panama Canal cruise were great, and the solo price seemed quite reasonable. My flight to San Francisco and overnight at Hotel Focus was fine. Took a taxi for $40 to the pier. Once on board, I felt my solo ocean view cabin was a bit "close", and the bathroom absolutely tiny. I am much smaller than ...

Well a floating nursing home is how it is best described - that said we met some great people and visited some amazing places.

Overall trip was fantastic but first and last time with this line. Embarkation - Fast and easy - we walked on the ship and checked in in the Insignia Lounge to get ticked off we had watched the safety video then dropped our carry on off at our cabin and went for lunch all in under an hour. DINING/FOOD/DRINKS,- - we found waves, the food hall/Terrace all good with some daily changes in food ...

A Luxury Cruise Line That Is Not As Good As Most Premium Cruise Lines

Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Insignia

User Avatar

We had not cruised for several years (pandemic and health issues) and were really excited to try a luxury cruise line. All of our previous 20 or so cruises have been with Premium cruise lines. We should have tried a short Oceania cruise before committing to a World Cruise so the fact that we were so disappointed was our fault entirely. On the positive side, the ship size was perfect. We were able ...
