Took Alaskan Cruise in July 2022 on Ruby, had the worst experience. Embarkation was nightmare, had to wait for about 3 hours to board. With COVID epidemic in full swing, this was a traveler's nightmare. Firstly, peak summer, long lines and fellow passengers in close proximity. This was our first cruise going thru the Panama Canal. What a wonder! Leaving San Francisco turned out to be very efficient. Princess crew waiting at baggage to direct you to waiting room and bus. Embarkation with Princess in SF is consistently one of the best experiences we have ever had. Exceptional Princess entertainment. We also enjoyed Crooners most every night with David Moore. The Princess orchestra did an amazing job with all of the entertainers. Always wanted to do a panama canal cruise. We were not disappointed.
It was hot and humid, so that limited our excursions. They couldn't guarantee an air conditioned bus, so didn't go on any tours, just went out to shops close to the ship.
