We've always wanted to go to Alaska and out of the blue, got an Oceania brochure in the mail. With a couple RC cruises under our belts (which were fine), we decided to try a smaller, more upscale cruise line. Mainly we were looking to avoid the crowds & lines of the big ships, and see if the food was as good as they brag about.

Great Ship
The ship is great and the staff is fantastic. It is nice the water and specialty coffees are included. No photographer constantly taking pictures. Also no cocktail staff in the theater during the shows.
The rooms are very nice, larger than most other ships and the cabin attendants were unreal.

We just returned from our voyage from Alaska and I have to say it was very disappointing. We have been on 3 other Regent Cruises and all have been excellent. We chose Regent due to the "all inclusive" pricing. However, we were somewhat dissatisfied this trip (our third cruise with Regent). The long wait to be transferred from the Mark Hopkins Hotel to the pier was not good. We had to wait almost two hours. No explanation as to why the wait was so long, no one was offered water while waiting, and many people had to stand around.

Alaska, not just on the bucket list. We have seen all kinds of TV programs on Alaska and wanted to get a close up, first hand view.
Embarkation was smooth with bus picking us up at Mark Hopkins Hotel, but disembarkation needs a lot of work... too chaotic with local buses and it felt like Regent just washed their hands of us once we stepped over the door threshold.
