Probably the worse one yet

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Royal Princess

I have been on over 20 cruises with many different companies. I use to put Princess up there with the best of them but not any more. I am a coeliac and the choice of food for us was so bad, there was nothing after the dinning room closed in the evening. The bakery had 1 thing everyday which was a rice pudding or yogurt mousse sort of thing. They displayed a lovely choice of filled sarnies, home ...

Turn Down the DECIBEL LEVEL

This was part 2 of a back to back. We had transit passes and took off early morning for a long walk in San Francisco. After significant improvement on Mexico sailing things really fell apart again on this Hawaii sailing. Firstly the noise level on ship in every venue is so amped up that there is barely a quiet area anywhere just to have a conversation. IT IS DEAFENING. You can clearly hear ships ...

Cruise to Hawaii

We were disappointed in this cruise. The entertainment was sorely lacking, the food was horrible. Everything tasted like curry or the flavoring from the link sausage. Embarkation and debarkation was a nightmare. Not the Princess we've cruised on before. Lack of crew, if you wanted a drink, go to the bar and get it. Princess wasn't ready to sail and they winged it the whole way. It's the ...

What happened to my Ruby?

I'm not sure what happened to the Ruby since I cruised on her in July of 2022, but something sure changed. Dining: Crown Grill: We ate there 2 times, and the first time I ordered the Filet Med Rare - It was the toughest piece of meat I've ever eaten......tasted like a cheap piece of sirloin steak. It was cooked perfectly, but man was it tough. The 2nd time I ordered the Porterhouse ...

Ship was good - Cruise lost points before we set sail

We chose this cruise to be with friends, and also to be a "bucket list" trip to the Hawaiian Islands. Unfortunately, all the friends had to cancel for various reasons, so we made the cruise as a solo couple. We require handicapped-accessible accommodations as my wife is scooter bound. Pre-cruise issue 1: The Medallionclass app We were supposed to enter our pre-cruise information and ...

Food Quality has gone down hill on Club Class

We were excited to be on our first cruise since 2019 and this was a warm-up cruise for our booked 2023 World Cruise on the Island Princess. We selected a club class and the three of us would have a mini with a full queen and a fold out full bed. The room was very good with a full bathroom with a tub and large center cabin. Boarding: What a nightmare, we waited approximately 1-1/2 hours to ...

Struggling to deliver Post-Pandemic

I am a platinum member having sailed Princess several times. On this occasion I found Princess to be struggling to deliver post pandemic as it seems to have cut back on staff thus standard of service. By example first night in the restaurant I was served raw centred chicken and this was quickly whisked away without any great concern for the risk such a mistake can cause health wise. Our cabin was ...

Dated, rusty, boring

This was a 10 day cruise from SF to Cabo, despite it showing as a cancelled 15 day Hawaiian. Service was good with staff being attentive and up to Princess standards. There were only 670 passengers out of full 3000 capacity. Princess older fleet starting to show its age and Ruby is not exception. The outer haul and some other outdoor areas, including balconies are full of rust, despite just ...

COST CUTTING IN ALL THE WRONG PLACES

This itinerary was for the 10 day California Coast w / Cabo San Lucas round trip from San Francisco. Let me first say, I have a point of reference as I’ve cruised on the Ruby before. I know what she is capable of, and this cruise didn’t even come close. First the good. The staff was 5 star all around. Eager to please, always with a warm welcome and smile, clearly happy to be back at ...

Not what I expected

My partner wanted to sail under the Golden Gate Bridge one last time so he convinced me it would be great for both of us. I had expected to have sunny days with a little bump here and there but that is not what happened. No sun, cold wind and all kinds of sea bumps. I enjoyed the food in the buffet and the dining room but my partner did not. Our cabin seemed smaller than usual for a balcony ...
