Old ship, but completely enjoyed the cruise

Review for Golden Princess to Transpacific

This was my 15th cruise on Princess, and would put me over 150 days at sea. My wife has credit for 1 additional cruise, so we did qualify for Elite benefits based on her cruise history (so free laundry on the long cruise!). There were about 450 Elites on the cruise, so that laundry did take up to 3 days to be returned. We had a wonderfully relaxing crossing. Seas were a little rough leaving ...

Princess is falling behind.

Princess was our favorite cruise line and we have taken 29 cruises and spent about 350 days on board their ships. Over the years we have noticed the little cuts but since we have not been on Princess for about 2 years we had an eye opening experience on this 26 day transpacific cruise. They have cut everything from the crew to toothpicks and mints after dinner to the size of the plates at ...

A Leisurely Cruise on an Excellent Ship

Review for Golden Princess to Transpacific

Embarkation went very smoothly. The San Francisco cruise terminal is very modern and the staff were very efficient. We arrived at 12:30 pm and were on the ship by 12:50pm. We had spent a week in the USA travelling before the cruise, so we spent the afternoon catching up on washing, unpacking for the 28 day cruise and we then settled down for our first drink. It was good to be on board a ship ...

What is better than leaving San Francisco on a crisp fall afternoon and ending in Sydney Australia on beautiful spring morning in less than a month? We sailed on the Golden Princess from SF to Honolulu circled the Islands stopped in Maui then off to the beautiful pacific islands of Tahiti, Bora Bora, American Samoa, Pago Pago, then to New Zealand finally spending an extra day in Sydney. We ...

Very pleasantly surprised with our cruise on the Golden as the service was fantastic from start to finish . After just getting off the Sea princess a week prior and being bitterly disappointed with the condition of the ship and the poor entertainment and service we were wowed by the difference in the two ships. The staff on the Golden were friendly and attentive in all departments and couldn't ...

One Day on Cruise Ship Better Than Staying At Home

Review for Golden Princess to South Pacific

Overall the experience was very good. Clean ship, good service, plentiful and good food, on board activities adequate...........but 1. The day excursions were not up to my expectations. Weather may have played a part in this review. Maui snorkeling in the crater was a poor showing of coral and/or fish, as well as the snorkeling in Tahiti and Bora Bora. Where are the fish and where is the ...

I booked this cruise as part of the bucket list thing. It was to be the trip of a lifetime. In some ways it delivered, not so much in other ways. We have cruised princess about 4 times and have cruised other lines approximately 5 times. Princess has been our favorite. This is the longest cruise we have been on, the next in length being a 21 day Med cruise on NCL. We are retired in our early ...

Not the Greatest Weather, but Good Cruise and Nice Ship

Boarding/Departure We had read a lot of horror stories about Boarding in San Francisco. Our experience was very good. Arrived around 11, easy baggage drop off, quickly through security then comfortable in the lounge before boarding around 12. There really wasn’t anything at all that they could have done differently to improve this process. Departure was delayed around an hour due to stores ...

Wonderful Cruise on the Golden. This was my first experience with Princess and we were very happy. The staff and service was excellent all round. Embarkation was truly a seamless easy experience. Staff were everywhere instructing and helping at the Newish Pier 27 Cruise terminal in San Francisco. We where on the Ship in about 20 minutes and our cabin was ready and glass of champagne waiting. We ...

Fantastic cruise! The entertainment was top notch - piano entertainer Oliver Holland (and his fan club) in the Promenade lounge was amazing and really made this trip fun and memorable. The shows were much better than those I've seen on other cruises. The only thing that was sometimes disappointing were the meals. Sort of hit and miss, some were great, others not good at all. Highly ...
