Ruby Princess Review

We had an inside cabin on the Ruby. The cabin was cramped but had a separate private storage area around the bathroom, which was nice. The food onboard was amazing. The buffet was small but had plenty of options for food. However, there were not that many free juices in the beverage area of the buffet. All 3 main dining rooms were very nice and had delicious food and waiters. The specialty ...

Back to pre-covid level of service

I play in the onboard casinos on Princess, so the casino dept comps me cruises. This was a comped cruise. I received an interior cabin and chose one next to the elevators in the back of the ship. The noise from the elevators was not too bad. I went to bed late and woke up early, so the activity was mainly in the mornings and acted as my alarm clock. Since my wife is out of vacation time, ...

Hiccups and hurrahs

Post-Covid, the cruise industry is not what is was before. It is evident that cost-saving measures have been implemented and ships are not full, whether from the difficulty of getting sufficient crew or as a covid precaution is hard to say. Our cruise began with two BIG hiccups. The ship docked late (we were told) and so passengers disembarked late and new passengers were left standing outside ...

The worst Princess EVER

We have enjoyed sailing on Princess in the past, however, this cruise was the worst ever. The cruise port was a disaster from the moment we got off the bus from the airport. The people at the entrance to the cruise port said go stand in line. We asked where the line was and were told over there. Over there turned out to be a circuitous line with over a thousand people in it. There were NO ...

June 19-29, 2022 This was a 10-day cruise roundtrip from San Francisco to Alaska, aboard the Ruby Princess. This was my 7th cruise on Princess, 17th cruise overall, but first since Covid and first on the Ruby. We had bus transportation from our travel agent from Sacramento to the ship – it’s nice not having to worry about driving or parking (or paying for parking), nor having to worry ...

Surprisingly great cruise

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Carnival Miracle

I stopped sailing Carnival because I was disappointed in prior cruises. I booked this one because my family had a last minute cancellation of a family camp vacation. I was very, very surprised at how good this cruise was and I would not hesitate at this point to book another Carnival cruise. Other than embarkation, the cruise was nearly flawless. We had a set dining time (7:45) in the ...

Great Alaskan Cruise.

We chose this cruise knowing that we wanted to go to Alaska (specifically these ports: Skagway, Ketchikan) and wanted to leave out of San Francisco. It was a great cruise with a great crew. Customer service was outstanding and the experience was great. We love the Medallion app except when you have to continue to reset it. Other than that and a slow internet, we can Highly recommend the ...

10-day round trip from San Francisco to Alaska. It’s our favorite cruise. Highly recommend it! For us, don’t have to fly anywhere, three days more at sea rather than flying. I’ve recommended it to people that would need to fly to the cruise ship anyway and told them to spend time in San Francisco and/of California. Princess is the only cruise line cruising out of San Francisco. This cruise is ...

Great, fun ship but zero regard for passenger safety.

Restaurants: Princess offers a buffet, dining rooms, and various eateries for free. The food was always very good imo, but each place was always too crowded for being in a pandemic. The buffet is self serve, and no, you do not need to wash your hands or use hand sanitizer before entering. I saw a woman lick soup off her finger, and then continue using the serving spoons. The buffet line was always ...

Alaska has always been on my bucket list and this seemed like the perfect time to go. The ship is beautiful , the food is plentiful and the staff is the best of the best. There were a few hiccups during embarkation but once we boarded the ship our adventure began. Ranger John is fantastic and his presentations were so informative, from whales to bears to volcanos he has experienced it all. ...
