Highs and Lows

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Norwegian Jewel

I'll start with the highs: We enjoy the Jewel's size-not too big, not too small. The staff were all great, as usual. We enjoyed the shows. We ate mostly at specialty dining for dinner, and we liked them all, especially Cagney's. In Ensenada, we walked to the fish market and had some great fish tacos. In Cabo, we took a ship's shore excursion to the Casa Dorado Beach Resort and it was great. ...

Simply a great cruise.

This cruise was wonderful. Embarkation was horrible. No order. It was simply a free for all. No one followed what order there was. Our dining room waiters were great and we never had a bad meal. These waiters would stand on their heads if you asked them to. Our room stewards were wonderful. Kept our cabin very clean. We made our own bed. Anything to make their job easier. The ...

We had an amazing cruise on the Diamond Princess! I would sail on her again and recommend the ship to anyone!

I read a lot of negative reviews on the Diamond Princess recently, so I went into this cruise with managed expectations. That being said, I had an amazing cruise with very little criticism. This was a 7-night Mexican Riviera cruise to Loreto, La Paz and Cabo San Lucas. Our Loreto port was canceled due to high winds, so we rerouted to Mazatlán for our first stop. SHIP REVIEW: This ...

35 day Hawaii, Tahiti and French Polynesia cruise

Hi from Oregon. We are a 4-star and just completed this cruise. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Old Town. It has airport/port shuttle and full breakfast. If you don't like sea days this is not a cruise for you. I happen to love them so it's fine for me. We were in a Vista Suite on the aft. Lots of walking so you'll get your steps in. After we disembarked in San Diego the ship came up to ...

Left late Waiting hours for dinners Rude Hawaii guy A big sales pitch Late to first port causing us to miss excursion Same food over and over Insulting comedians Nothing to do on the way back Running out of stuff No room people everywhere overcrowded People holding reserving places with one person for ten or 12 people so you can’t find a place to sit for ...

2600 passengers was for me, too many. There were lines from time to time especially in the Lido Market. The worst part was that many people were coughing, some constantly. Of course, few people get tested because they do not want to be quarantined in their cabin. However, I was not feeling well, got tested and got covid. I was therefore, quarantined to the cabin for the last three days ...

Never again with Princess!!

I typically cruise with Celebrity and enjoy it, but saw this cruise with Princess out of San Diego and decided to give them a try, since I have heard that their service is comparable to Celebrity in many ways. With that said, I could not be more underwhelmed with this experience, especially after reading so many positive reviews about Princess and this ship prior to embarking on my ...

I went on this cruise as a precursor to going on the Grand Princess to Alaska. I am taking some friends with us to Alaska and wanted to see how these older ships compare to the newest ones, and the Diamond happens be in the older category. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well maintained the Diamond is. My last Princess cruise was on the Royal 3 years ago and though it was one of the newer ...

Medallion No Class App

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Diamond Princess

The Diamond Princess is a very beautiful ship with a wonderful crew. It should never have been subjected to the ‘scourge’ of the Medallion No Class App. Embarkation: Below standard. Packed waiting in long poorly organized lines. Although we were unable to enter or get boarding times on their app., others said it made no difference. ‘Ocean Ready’ really? Crew: Fantastic as always. ...

First and probably last Princess cruise

I got a good deal for Mexico cruise so thought why not? I had sailed with HAL and Celebrity several times so have some frame of reference. The Bad: the dining experience was awful, we struggled to get reservations each night which wouldn't have been an issue but for the fact that the buffet/market (whatever they call it) was so dismal. The food at this place really was on a par with cafeteria ...
