getting on and off the ship was well taken care of. overall service was wonderful. the food was surprisingly only very good, not up to our expectations. we ate in the main dr. every evening at an assigned table. the lido for breakfast and lunch was just fine and more than adequate. there is no place on the ship to enjoy the sea and scenery at a quiet pace. the crows nest has ...

It was a nice cruise from a scenery and ports perspective. Entertainment quality was good and was to be expected. Food quality was good and stateroom stewards were excellent. Embarkation and disembarkation went smoothly. The issue my husband and I had was the crew/staff/officers did not seem very happy and were not intermingling with the passengers as they have on our other Holland Cruises. ...

Carnival Miracle Panama Canal

We loved everything about this cruise....except the comedian(so bad it was embarrassing- many people left halfway through his performance) and the Comedy Club hostess with her squeaky voice and her fake hair flips. The food experience was exquisite. Indrawan was our favorite waiter. Attentive, professional, and always smiling! The meals were delicious each day. The dining room was spectacular. ...

Warm weather cruise in both the Pacific and Atlantic. Staff was ...as usual, outstanding. The ship was set to be refurbished at the end of this cruise. It needed it. Really could have been discounted because of the needed repairs. Carnival has really fallen off in quality since we started with them nearly 35 years ago. Food quality and entertainment need upgraded. It would have been good to ...

This is our 7th cruise. We had a signature suite. Other cruises have been 14 day transatlantic on Celeberity, Princess, and Royal Caribbean. This ranks last on our ratings. Pros: Crew all very friendly, pleasant, helpful and seem to be very happy. Food was very good at first. Canned music was subtle and unobtrusive.Cons: Too many to list but here are the main ones. Ship is very tired and not well ...

We wanted a cruise where we didn’t have airfare to contend with. We can drive from Phoenix to San Diego, leave our car in a hotel that stores it for free, and take the free shuttle from the Best Western Yacht Harbor ($137 a night) to the cruise port. Perfect. This was only seven days but it only cost $1249 so we were very happy with that part of it. We love absolutely everything about this ship ...

I choose Holland America because we do not like the mega ships...I like to feel that we are at sea! I thought the food was the best I have had comparing with other cruise lines. The service was outstanding, friendly and fun. I would be hard pressed to look elsewhere. There was wonderful entertainment in the evening at the Gallery Bar. Two duel pianists played and sang 50's to 90's music. We ...

We sailed on the Holland-America Oosterdam’s 18-day Panama Canal cruise (January 15-February 5, 2020) from San Diego to Fort Lauderdale. My wife and I are in our 70’s, and we are four-star HAL Mariners. We had temperatures that were mostly in the 70’s and 80’s and lots and lots of sunshine. (There was very little rain during these 18 days.) We packed sunscreen and some 30% Deet insect repellent ...

Comfortable Rotterdam

Panama Canal transit in January, just the time to be out of the Northeast. Have been on Rotterdam multiple times. Enjoy the size of ship, the fact that it still has an Explorations Cafe and full Promenade deck, making it very comfortable, especially on sea days. Needs some additional activities and entertainment, especially for sea days. The Billboard On Board was great, just not enough seating. ...

The itinerary was why we chose it (Panama Canal), and we’d heard great things about HAL. We’ve cruised on Cunard, Celebrity (Aqua class), Azamara and Avalon. This was our worst experience. The ship itself is great, with beautiful art and public areas. The staff is wonderful and determined to please. But some real bummers. Do NOT pay money for the thermal spa - we bought a couples pass and only ...
