We took a shuttle to the terminal instead of parking and it was well worth it. The cabins in the Oosterdam are dated and tired. The ship needs revamping. Perhaps, in doing that they will also clean up the virus they can't seem to shake. After our cruise returned to San Diego, the ship claimed they would disinfect everything. Guess what? The ship left port again, 250 people came down with GIS and the ship returned to port. Overall - we had a good time on our vacation. Nothing terrible happened to us - no huge issues. That said, nothing spectacular happened to us either.
We have had our expectations set for us by cruise lines like Royal Caribbean and Disney. First time on a Holland America ship. Overall I would say HAL not as strong as those lines.
