This was a fabulous cruise. The ship was clean, comfortable and most importantly the food was outstanding! The staff were all helpful and friendly and no matter how stressed they were happy ( and sometimes singing)! It was about 5 days out and 5 days back strictly at sea. We had only taken a 6 day cruise to the Bahamas previously, so felt we were really stepping out to do an 18 day cruise. SWe had a nice trip to Hawaii. Be ready for a long time at Sea. We were busy in the carvers room as we joined on in a carvers group. However, I think there is enough to keep one busy on this ship. It has a nice active schedule for everyone.
This was not a trip for children as we saw only about 4 total on the adventure.
Although I am sure they enjoyed their excursions in Hawaii.

While the Westerdam is not one of the newest ship of the fleet, it certainly is one of the friendliest! The staff and crew were unbelievably wonderful and made us feel like family. We've been sailing with HAL since 1978 and the food, service and entertainment were excellent. We did not sail on the 24 day collectors voyage but only the 17 day San Diego to Hawaii and back to San Diego leg.
