Great Trip from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas

Review for a Mexican Riviera Cruise on Carnival Spirit

My husband and I live in San Diego and thought this 5 day trip to Cabo would be great and super convenient...and it was! We left on Sunday and arrived for embark at 2:00 pm. We were scheduled to leave at 4:00 pm. The process went very smooth, couldn't have been more than 20 mins max. We had our docs and passport in hand and went right to the check in then on to the ship. Our room was ready ...

Carnival Spirit 15 Day to Hawaii April 13, 2012

Where should I start? First, I want to say this is MY review and ONLY my account will be in it. Nobody else had any input or review of it so if it is badly written it is all my fault. This cruise was memorable to say the least. I will start with kudos to our wonderful "hostess" Amy, our Cruise Critic leader. She was on top of stuff and was/is the spark plug that made things seem to come together. ...

Great for a First Cruise

This was my first-ever cruise. As of writing this review, I've now gone on a couple more cruises, both with Carnival, and looking back, the 5 day Baja Mexico cruise was a perfect little get-away. The ship was clean, and comfortable. The room was clean and just exactly what you'd expect from a cruise ship room. The shows on this ship were particularly good. The cast and crew were very ...

We had a good time on this cruise - not a spectacular time, but a good and relaxing time. We were aboard the Spirit for this same cruise last September and had a wonderful time. After learning the Spirit is moving to Australia later this year, we decided to repeat the cruise. We purchased future cruise certificates while on board and received a great rate from our PVP so we booked this cruise ...

Not the best cruise we've been on, but good value for the $$

This was our first cruise on Carnival. We'd heard a lot of horror stories about the line, but were intrigued by the price difference. The old addage, "you get what you pay for," held true, but as long as you adjust your expectations, you it was a good value for the money. We arrived in San Diego at about 1:30 for a 4:00 sailing. It took us about an hour and a half to get on board. We had to ...

A Very Fun 8 Days

Intro - My girlfriend and I were feeling the need for a vacation back at Christmas time. Got on good old Travelocity and saw a decent deal for the Feb 4 sailing to Mexico on the Spirit. Carnival is the only line I've ever been on and I've done her sister ship, The Pride, a couple of times. I really do like the layout of the ship compared to others I've been on. So we bided our time and ...

Carnival Spirit, 5 nights, Feb. 12-17, 2012 sailed from San Diego to Cabo San Lucas. A friend and I shared a super cheap cabin category 1A, inside. Cabin 1255 is the same size and shape as more expensive interior cabins. As this was just a quick cruise, the cabin was fine though I always prefer a balcony. The cabin location worked out well, we had quick access to the elevator aft, and also to ...

Ok, my only cruising experience before this was 20 years ago on the old norway so i dont have a lot of foundation to compare this trip to. The upsetting things to me, would probably be far more upsetting to those of you that have more experience on cruise lines. And the truth is I'm coming from this from a different perspective then many readers. So a little background. im a single 42 year old ...

Disappointed in the Entertainment and Smoking aboard ship

The shows were not impressive, spectacular or worth watching like some cruise ships we've been on. I think I only stayed to watch one all the way through and I walked out on all the others that I went to see. I do not appreciate seeing girls and guys touching each other seductively on stage. To us, that is NOT entertainment. The skimpy outfits that exploit the women, to me, is not in good ...

We are a family of 4 with children ages 7 and 8. We had intended to use the child care activities only a few times during the cruise as we do most everything with our children as it was a family vacation. WE WERE NOT DISAPPOINTED WITH THE PROGRAMS......JUST expected them to accommodate the schedules of children not partying adults!!!! We hoped to attend an evening show, spend some time as a ...
