Never Again

Review for Spirit of Adventure to Canary Islands

The way we were treated by Saga Management means we will never travel with Saga again. Tested at Southampton both LFT and PCR and embarked on Spirit of Adventure. First impressions are very good. The ship was beautiful, the cabin was spacious and well appointed. Public areas are immaculate and staff well trained and attentive. However, once the ship had set sail, we were informed by the ...

Hoping this was going to be the “Trip of a Lifetime” we were bitterly disappointed right from the start, a three quarter of an hour wait in a queue to be covid tested at the docks was a little frustrating to say the least. The staff at the port refused to carry my wife’s Dress Carrier stating that they might “damage it’ Once we were in the cabin which was very acceptable we decided to explore the ...

Well organised cruise in a beautiful ship, but room for improvement

We decided on this cruise just two months before the sailing as we really needed to get away for a break and warmer weather. The no flying, all inclusive, discounted price and especially Saga's Covid protocols to protect passengers and crew were all factors in this decision. Pick up and embarkation process faultless. We were picked up on time, taken to the port. Lateral flow tested and PCR ...

A welcome escape from home and winter but a bit unadventurous

Our first cruise with Saga, during which we clocked up our 100th day of cruising experience. The ship S of A has been at sea for less than a year and is the most modern ship we have been on. Everything is spick and span and everything works as it should. Best wifi and TV we’ve ever had on a ship. It is comfortable and spacious. However a lot of the furniture has been chosen by designers ...

DISAPOINTING TRIP

Firstly, I cannot fault the ship or the crew who were excellent. However, having just spent short of £8,000 on our first holiday for nearly three years we were rather surprised at the age group, advertised as "holidays for the over 50s" which in reality was more like over 80. Consequently the activities and the food on board the ship focused on this age group. I am 75, my wife 68. I felt like a ...

Chose this cruise because it was from Southampton (no flying), a new ship and all inclusive - including everything Covid related. Picked up from home on time by the included door to door car service. Pre-embarkement COVID tests were quick, efficient and on board within 30 minutes of arrival at the port. Great start, and it didn't stop there. The whole journey was well organised, staff are ...

Nice ship & a great crew but let down by quality issues and a totally shambolic organisation at Saga head office

First the good points. This is a lovely new small ship [less than 1000 passengers] with well designed cabins and one of the best crews we have ever sailed with. The cruise director was also the best. The speciality restaurants are available at no extra charge and the Coast to Coast seafood restaurant probably the best we have eaten in. However the food quality in the main dining room ...
