Room 036, on the navigation deck is a lot smaller than other similar priced rooms on the Nieuw Amsterdam, Zuiderdam, Amsterdam, Noordam, Eurodam and all the other "dam" ships we have sailed on.On the 4th day around 4 AM there was a strange vibration that we have felt on the Zuiderdam. It lasted for several hours and was repeated twice more on the cruise. The vibration caused me to wake up for a bit. Read entire member review >>
The room could use some cleaning and updating. For example, while it's great to have a tub, the jets in them were filthy and I would have never filled the tup and used it because of how grimy they were. Water pressure varied at times, but more often than not, the water temperature really varied. It was boiling hot to luke warm in under five seconds. Not pleasant when showering. The water was also brown twice at night when trying to brush our teeth. Again, not that pleasant. It was a nice size room that was centrally located. It's definitely bigger than some other verandah rooms on other ships, but you can still tell you're on a ship. There's plenty of storage for clothing. The beds were pretty comfortable and the pillows were nice. Read entire member review >>
Great suite, lots of drawer space, and lots of hangers and not the cheap kind. A real hair dryer is provided and not one coming out of a vacuum. The bedding is marvellous. Just a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend this cabin category. Read entire member review >>
Nice location - near elevator, 10th Deck 2nd to last cabin aft, so small pool very handy - too cold to use, however nice another time of year. Was good exercise walking to the front of the ship for entertainment, - handiest of locations for food! Read entire member review >>
A balcony/suite is the way to go on HAL's smaller ships. We had plenty of space, very good storage, and a decent size full bath. I was worried about 2 weeks in the same room, but it was just fine. For the Baltic in July, we got good use from our balcony. The sunsets (on the days we had sun!) are breathtaking. Read entire member review >>
Great location mid ship on the same level as the most expensive suites and a swimming pool. The rest of the ship doesn't seem to know this deck exists and was quite and perfect. On the Baltic trip I could have done without a balacony
since I used it only about 30 minutes the whole time. This was a great cabin.
I was alone, of course, so there was plenty of room for 1 person. I usued the
spa tub daily and was happy to have it. Also used DVR bringing a few movies from home although a complete library aboard. Read entire member review >>
The cabin was comfortable, plenty of hanging space, and drawers.
Our cabin was classed as a verandah suite with whirlpool bath, to be honest I would far sooner of had just a shower, as you had to step into the bath to shower, which could be awkward for older passengers.
Beds very comfortable, with a selection of pillows.
Our cabin was at the back of the ship, which unfortunately was noisy. Read entire member review >>
Mini-suite 149 amide ship is in a great location if one is prone to seasickness. It is also beautiful and being on the starboard side of the ship you can see the pilot activity. No regrets Read entire member review >>
Roomy cabin with plenty of storage. Bathroom was a little cramped, but having a jacuzzi tub was a plus. Nice balcony with a lounger, chair and small table. Location was very convenient to the Sea view pool, as well as the Rotterdam Dining Room. I wish that there was a privacy curtain that would separate the cabin sleeping area from the sitting area (where a third person sleeps). Read entire member review >>
Very nice typical standard veranda cabin. Good location. Once or twice in the early evening we could hear music from below--not a problem after dinner or during the day. Read entire member review >>
