Mixed feelings!

This was our third Princess Cruise, but the first once since they were bought by Carnival. We felt that there was a decline. The food was more like Home Town Buffet. During our other cruises the food was high quality, really wonderful, fresh with lots of variety and great taste. We got to laughing, a little , on how can you make desserts that have no taste or sweetness? The Horizon Cafe was ...

Sooooo, as the name suggests, we are massive cunard fans and have only ever gotten as far as looking at other cruiseline's brochures or pricing them up. This time around however, we went for a super-late booking; just 10 days in advance of sailing, and as we couldn't meet the departure dates for cunard, ended up on our first ever Princess cruise on the Ruby Princess. Well..... Our review goes ...

We had booked this as cruise only so I will only talk about the cruise. We arrived at he ship at 14:30 the embarkation was simple and easy, very efficient. We were meeting our friends on the ship and they were waiting for us. We had a ocean view cabin it was quite roomy with plenty of space for storage, particularly enough coat hangers for all our stuff including all my wife's dresses. The bed ...

I will try to make this short, but I can see already it won't be. I do not want to waste more time on Princes so there may be some dyslexic spelling and some short form sentences below. My English teacher may not be happy. I will start by saying this is my first cruise but have travelled well in North America, all the Southern islands, and this was my honeymoon. The Decor and room. I ...

We are a married couple in our mid-30's and are not usually cruisers, but booked this mainly for the destinations. Overall the cruise went well, despite a minor bout of food sickness. Embarkation went very smoothly, although it was quite a walk to get from the train to the ship in Venice. Disembarkation went smoothly as well; we opted to carry our own luggage and pretty much walked right off ...

We've traveled on Princess many times but have never experiences such great and awful service in a single cruise. High points: Chef's Table: Fantastic and feel honored to have been selected. The food and wine just kept coming with the Maitre D' and Chef being such wonderful hosts. Being recognized by a bartender who was on the Diamond during last year's ...

Arrived in Venice on May 28th and embarkation went smoothly and quickly. Our cabin steward was the very best. He anticipated our every need. The balcony was large with 4 lounge chairs, but the room seemed small compared to other cruise lines in same category. The bathroom was a closet, hardly enough room to turn around in. We had anytime dining and the first night set the mood for the rest ...

I booked this cruise to travel in August with Thomas Cook on line but would do so independently next time, arranging a overnight stay in embarkation port and arranging my own flight. We travelled on the Grand Mediterranean cruise Venice to Barcelona for 12 nights on Ruby Princess. The airport transfer was excellent and embarkation was very proffessional and all completed in less than half an ...

Great Family vacation

Your comments were: Overall a very good experience but many corners cut by Princess. The shore excursions were great. If you book through the cruise line, you are over paying a huge amount. There are alternative choices at every port at much lower prices. A good small example is Rome. We chose the on our own for us and the Elite for our friends. We paid $89 for the bus trip that was ok but the ...

Our European vacation

As itineraries go, this by far was our best vacation ever. Every stop was an adventure. We did not take any shore excursions thru Princess. We have learned from past cruises that private tour guides are the best. This time we were not disappointed. Our tour guides were the best and I would recommend them to anyone: In Italy, we used the same tour group-Tony in Pisa/Florence, Fabrizio in Rome, ...
