We choose Princess because it sailed out of San Francisco. We were able to take the Amtrac train out of Fresno, CA at 6:00 AM and were in front of the Buffet at 11:30 AM. Embarkation was the easiest of all our cruises. Luggage taken right from the Uber along the curbside.
Every sea day was a hour practice on the steel drums for 30 shipmates. Leader of the drums, Wilson, was great. Much ...
We chose this cruise because we have sailed to Hawaii five times previously and we love all the sea days. It is also a great way to get a taste of the islands: Oahu, Kauai, Maui, and Hawaii. As an added bonus, our favorite Hawaiian ambassadors Brian and Rowena Vasquez were onboard, teaching ukulele, hula and a wide variety of Hawaiian-themed crafts. They embody the Spirit of Aloha and really ...
This was a Valentine gift from my sweet guy! We had been on the Grand Princess before the pandemic and that is what I am comparing my experience. The staff on the Grand were so much more friendly than the Ruby staff. The Ruby staff were pleasant but really didn't seem to go out of their way to be friendly. The food on the Ruby also didn't seem to be as good especially the buffet. The ...
The Staff was fantastic, the food and entertainment needs improvement but know they are still starting up again, the ship is in good shape, I had a balcony cabin and it was well appointed with the much praised comfort of the bed. I want to mention the Ensenada tour to the Casa Dona Lupe, L.A. Cetto & Wine Tasting was not a great tour although they were both nice places there was a lot of standing ...
We live in the San Francisco Bay Area, so we enjoy cruises that leave and return to San Francisco -- no airports involved. We've cruised on Princess 5 or 6 times now, and they have been very good. We noticed this time that staffing seemed to be a problem -- very, very long waits at dinner. On the first 2 nights, there were long lines to get into the dining rooms (da Vinci and Botticelli) and it ...
The cruise was great but when my wife and I made the reservations I had asked for timed dining for a table of two. Might be because of the Covid the last 2 years when we arrived the 1st night for our table on past cruises we were assigned a table for the week and would be taken the 1st night to the table and return the same time every night even if you were a few minutes late. This time though ...
I have always had great experiences on my previous Princess cruises to Alaska and Hawaii. This cruise was excellent in many ways. The entertainment was top notch. The food was delicious and such a great variety of choices. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. That's all the positives points of this particular cruise.
There were quite a few negatives though. I've never had to wait sooo ...
Great way to relax but Princess needs to fix a few things.
Not up to snuff yet post pandemic.
Short way to get away and relax, but the embarkation process was a disaster. We had to stand in line three hours since trip not ready and it took four hours after arrival before getting to room. Cruise left almost 3 hours late. My wife has some health issues and had to stand 3 hours outside ...
We had a really nice cruise on the Ruby starting with the embarkation, which was a disaster. We choose not to let one bad experience ruin our cruise, though so we recovered and put that all in the rear view mirror as quickly as possible once we were onboard. There were some remaining issues which I think were related to check in but, they didn't detract much from our experience onboard. ...
We booked a 15day cruise to Hawaii. We flew from NJ to San Francisco for the sail away under the Golden Gate Bridge. After standing in line outside for 2 1/2 hours we finally entered the terminal and stood on line some more. Green lane and having the medallion didn’t matter. The sail away was 2 hours late. By this time the wind was freezing and it was raining. The service was good, the food was ...
