Mini-Suite with Balcony (MD) Cabin Reviews

Mini suite cabin was spacious and the bathroom even had a bath. Hairdryer was rubbish looks like something from the 1950's and definitely cannot be used to style hair. Bed was super comfy!

The cabin had several problems. At night there was a light under the night stand that could not be switched off. I turned it off by disconnecting the wire. The middle drawer of the night stand was broken and would not shut. The next morning I discovered the wall hair dryer did not work. Fortunately Jeremiah, the cabin steward, had all the problems solved and provided us with a hand held hair dryer. The tech fixed the wall unit dryer but it would not work subsequently. The balcony had rust all over. Very much in need of maintenance. I do recommend this type of cabin as it is very roomy and has a bath tub. Read Less

The cabin says suite but rather it was like a normal room with very little walking room. The decor inside this room was greatly outdated, it appeared like something from the a 70's version of the prince of Arabia. Gold tones mixed with tans and white. There was 2 TV's which was a plus but the room which is said to be for four person had room for 2. Entering the door to the suite was a short hallway with a closet and entry to bathroom. Bathroom was sufficient but nothing to call home and praise. After the small entry you were in the bedroom area which took up a majority of the area. the entry way which was wide enough for one person to walk was the same at the foot of the bed. at the end of this short walk a outdated cabinet jutted out of the wall where inside was a fridge, very small fridge but the cabinet with shelves took up more space (unknown why). slide left past the cabinet was a shoulder wide walk to the nightstand and a worn/discolored couch that converted to a small bed. Above that bed was a pop out bunk that was even smaller with a very uncomfortable mattress. the head of the bunk and the end of the couch face a sliding door which opened up onto a balcony. this balcony had two chairs and a table which took up all the space. Definitely not like the photographs seen. Piled up the furniture so all 4 of us could get onto the patio together. Read Less

Our cabin was well kept by our steward. Everything was always clean and he jumped to complete any request we made.

We had booked a balcony, then were given upsell offers. We passed on the first two, but accepted (rather jumped at) an offer for a Mini-Suite for an extra $49 PP. The mini-suite was awesome, my wife thinks she’ll find it hard to book anything but a mini-suite from now on. The larger bathroom, seating area, two TVs and good-sized deck were great. We were about 4 cabins from an elevator on the Dolphin deck. There was but one problem with our cabin. The toilet clogged a few times, all mechanical, not “human” related. The vacuum seemed to be malfunctioning. They’d fix it, then it would happen the next day. We called them 3 or 4 times to get it squared away. They take care of it from outside the cabin, the little door next to your cabin is for bathroom access, so they never had to come in, but one time they said they never logged the call, which was fine as we just went to a public room on the way to a show or something. Our steward was fine, things were tidy and clean Read Less

Cabin was “tired”. Ruby was built in 2008 and is in need of refurbishment. Carpet in the stateroom was worn and sleeper sofa was in need of cleaning and it’s cushions were uncomfortable (when sitting you could feel the metal bars on the sleeper bed) this made the sitting room really unusable. WiFi connectivity was very poor in the stateroom, it was best to go to the ship’s centerline where it was good. Read Less
