Overall this was a cruise on a par with most of my previous cruises, fifteen on Norwegian, one on Princess. The biggest surprise was the newly installed Medallion.net wi-fi service. It was priced reasonably, unlimited, and provided reliable service much faster than any I've previously experienced on a cruise. I am told it is being rolled out over time to other Princess ships. If your ship has it, ...
We chose this cruise primarily for the itinerary and timing as we like to escape our New England winters - we have cruised with Celebrity, Carnival, NCL, Oceania and Royal - this was our first Princess experience and we tried not to make comparisons, as each line has its strengths and weaknesses.
Embarkation was quick and efficient and our deluxe balcony stateroom E126 was ready when we boarded ...
We felt the food quality was down from the last Princess cruise. The one night they had steak, it was not edible. The shows were very crowded! The drink prices were far too expensive! 11.00 for the least expensive glass of wine--ridiculous. We felt the iced tea was not good--it had an odd flavor. Positive note--our cabin steward was very efficient!
The casino has a section for smoking, ...
Average experience. Big beautiful ship. Wish they would monitor the lounge chairs as many with belongings and no people for hours. The entertainment was not as good as we are used to on Princess. Check your accounts for accuracy and if staff says they will take care of a charge double check they did. Wish they had more variety in movies under the stars as they were repeated the second week. ...
We wanted to get out of the Colorado cold weather and have fun on New Year’s Eve. Chose this cruise as we sailed Princess before and liked the ports. We loved the ship, especially the retreat pool and the entertainment. New Years parties were fantastic. Unfortunately, our interactions with the crew didn’t meet our expectations. Generally the crew from guest services, wait staff, deck ...
This was our 8th cruise on Princess (Platinum) and 2nd time on The Royal Princess. This was our 37th cruise. We have also sailed on Royal Caribbean, Carnival, Costa, Holland America and MSC. Our itinerary was Princess Cays, St. Thomas and St. Maarten.
We had rented a car from Budget which was convenient and was only a 2 minute shuttle ride to the cruise port.
We arrived at the cruise port ...
We’ve just left the Royal Princess after spending 2 weeks over Christmas and new year on her.
It’s fair to say we’ve had a good time, it’s was not really expensive and I’d probably sail princess again but there were a number of things to worthy of comment.
Firstly ( but in no particular order )
The room was described as a “deluxe balcony” but it was too small for the three of us and when ...
We chose back to back 7 days for Christmas and New Years. The Christmas week was good; however, the 2nd cruise beginning Dec 29 was as if you were on a totally different ship. AND, no one cared. Food in Horizon Court was NEVER close to being hot; however, we overlooked that the first 7 days when there was variety to our liking. However, the food during the 2nd 7 days was generally warmed over ...
My Son and daughter in-law worked for Princess Cruises in Alaska and tried this cruise line. The Cruise Ship was very clean! Stateroom was clean and service was excellent! The food started out to be above average but during the week at best turned to average. This is not a cruise for Country Western Music or Sports Fans. There was no country music or sports bar. The casino was above ...
We are a couple in our mid 50’s who choose this cruise as a Christmas present to ourselves. This was our 13th Princess cruise since 2008 and our 2nd time on the Royal Princess. I would rate this cruise experience a 3 to 3.5 out of 5.
THE GOOD:
Embarkation and disembarkation were fast and efficient. Probably the best we have experienced on any cruise. We left our hotel around 11:30 and were ...
