A larger version of a balcony stateroom includes all the same amenities, plus a comfortable sofa bed to relax and rejuvenate. This stateroom also offers some of the same amenities found in a mini-suite stateroom, including upgraded bathroom amenities, waffle bathrobe, terry cloth towels, and an upgraded duvet insert.
Paid for a Deluxe Balcony. Beds are horribly uncomfortable, TV never worked the whole cruise and no one would come and fix or replace it, the shower was so bad I could never completely rinse my hair of conditioner, and the balcony so small it was useless. Read entire member review >>
Thank goodness we had the 2 seater sofabed, or the cabin would have felt small. The balcony is not as big as we have had on other lines.(..especially the verandah on holland america...they are fantastic.) The casino was nice...even though smoking is allowed we did not have an issue, except when a smoker sat right next to us. They also had 3 nights where effective 5pm there was no smoking throughout the casino...much appreciated by us non smokers! Read entire member review >>
The cabin was nicely appointed and clean. The balcony is very small, along with the cabin size and bath area. As our last cruise was on Viking, which had larger bathrooms, so we were disappointed on space only.
However, our cabin steward was excellent and addressed any items that we asked about and our room was refreshed twice a day. I think we only had to call once to have them check on the safe as it was not working properly.
Our cabin location was great, no problems. Read entire member review >>
Cabin size was satisfactory with very good room attendant and toiletries. The only complaint I have is that I realize the hair dryer needs to be away from water for safety but to be close to the TV is not convenient when the other person is watching the TV. Read entire member review >>
The cabin was fine. The water pressure in the shower was great. The location was perfect.Make a short left from your room the elevator takes you to the Horizon Bistro.Make a right from your room the elevator takes you to the front of the Horizon Court. Read entire member review >>
We always take the Caribe deck and are not used to the smaller balconies. Prefer the grand class ships for the bigger balconies on the Caribe deck.
The one nice change from the other ships was the bigger shower.
The larger flat tv screens were a nice change and the selections available on the tv were a big upgrade to what we were used to. Read entire member review >>
No drawers!!! Huge open closet for hang-ups, but for 10 days it would have been nice to have not lived out of suitcase. There are tiny open shelves under the safe, 2 nightstand drawers, and 1 in the desk...that's it. Large on-demand movie selection, but who wants to stay in room that long. Standard TV fair is lacking like most at sea. Read entire member review >>
Very nice room in a quiet area. We could quickly get to the aft stairs and then to our favorite spots on the ship including the pools and the Horizon Court and Horizon Terrace. Read entire member review >>
The deluxe balcony cabin (class DB, Dolphin Deck 9) was bigger than we'd been led to expect, and bigger than most outside view cabins that we've had on other ships. No problem for two people. Our cabin steward "Freddie" was great; one of the best stewards we've ever had. He made an effort to introduce himself within a few minutes of us entering the cabin, and he keep our cabin as neat as a pin the entire time we were there. We asked for terry cloth bathrobes and he had them for us the first night.
There was a surprising amount of drawer space and a huge closet with more than enough supplied hangers for two on a 10-day trip. Plaudits to Princess for the storage space!
The bathroom was large enough, don't care for the stick-to-you plastic shower curtains but at least they were clean and somewhat hygienic appearing. The supplied shower gel and shampoo/conditioner were of good quality.
The TV channels were marginally OK, but OTOH we don't go on a cruise to watch TV. Having said that, we would like to have two additional TV channels available, something like CNN for general news and the Weather Channel for weather. There really isn't much need to provide both MSNBC and CNBC, one financial new channel would be enough. Read entire member review >>
I found it very comfortable, but with just me in there, it wasn't crowded. With a second person it might have been. I used all the storage space, and the whole (very generously sized) closet. The bathroom is small, but there was space for all my "stuff". Not a fan of the shower setup--shower doors would be much better. The balcony is small, but there was room enough to stand out there and view the port, or watch the sea. The thermostat didn't seem to do anything to change the temperature. I picked the same cabin for my next cruise on the Royal. Read entire member review >>
Cabin drawer, hanging and shelf space superb....bathroom awful. Not sure why they would still have curtains not a door for a shower. As many have said, balcony tiny....one or two can sit straight up (but not if one is overweight!!!)....and forget eating on balcony...not sure how one would be able to. Read entire member review >>
As mentioned in review the cabin is same size as "regular" cabin on the Ruby and balcony was smaller. Good location on Dolphin deck and generally quiet just forward of front staircase. Thought walls a little thin as could hear TV next door some evenings. Read entire member review >>
This deck is right in the middle of the ship. 4 decks up to the Lido buffet and 4 decks down to the Atruim. Unless you need to use the elevators, this room is not worthy of the delux rating or price. Go aft or forward and save money if you plan on using the stairs a lot. Read entire member review >>
This cabin was listed as a deluxe cabin. It was bigger than a regular balcony cabin, but not as big as we expected. However, we enjoyed the cabin just the same. There was room to walk around. It was clean, the bed was comfortable, and our steward, Carlito, was very just great. There was lots of storage space which was a real plus. We enjoyed this cabin very much.
