The Holy Land cruise was prior to the following transatlantic, so we got a 'good feel' for the Odyssey. We've had 8 cruises on RCCL, 4 of which were transatlantic and 1 transpacific. We sailed Celebrity 10 times, 4 of which were transatlantic. Towards the end of the first cruise, we came down with a mild case of Covid, despite having our shots and 4th booster. We were quarantined in our cabin for ...
I chose this cruise to celebrate our (hubby & I ) 10 yr anniversary and I thought it'd be fun to celebrate on the newest & largest ship. I've sailed several times on Royal, each time on the newest and/or largest ship. Of all my cruises, this was the most disappointing. The service (cabin steward, waiters, & guest services) was 5+ star. The food, however, was not good. Based on my past cruises, I ...
If you want a more "stodgy" cruise experience, this ship/line is your best bet. My husband and I (almost retired), were entirely bored the whole week. Mediocre music (nothing I've ever heard before), that was loud and annoying (not a single person dancing, or looking like they were having fun). Food was "OK", but try getting anything after lunch....nope. Everything closes. Entertainment.....ok ...
This was our first ever cruise & we chose Royal Carribean due to their reputation. Unfortunately the reality did not live up to the expectation.
The boarding at Barcelona was smooth enough and we were walking onto the ship within 45 minutes after our check in time but events soon took a turn for the worse. We were informed our luggage would be delivered to our stateroom but after 2hrs on the ...
Food?
...at best it was mediocre and at worst it was cold and poor quality! After being on half a dozen RCI ships, this was the biggest disappointment! (To make matters worse RCI pressure their dining room staff to get patrons to give high marks for the food or it affects their standing! The water has NOTHING to do with the quality of food... Shame on RCI!)
...RCI have introduced a new ...
We excitingly embarked on this two week sailing for what we hoped would be a nice way to relax and unwind - how very wrong we were. When we first arrived we had high hopes as we had cruised on the Anthem twice before and had a great experience. The main issue was the many teenagers running up and down the hallways and banging on doors and walls, being rude and intimidating to other guests and crew ...
Well, where do i start. Ship is old and states that it had refirbushment. Well that may be but it still looks old. Our room balcony had been touched up with paint. Paint was over furniture and on ground. Obviously dont know about drop sheets to protect everything. No entertainement, as in broadway style shows that i have been on with Carnival and NCL (which have all been excellent). No comedy ...
I want to preface my review by stating that we don't care particularly for travel by bus, or "motor coach" as it is cutely described in the fine print. We especially don't like travelling by bus with our 18 month old child.
Well if you pick this cruise, be prepared to travel by bus, a lot.
The Itinerary
Let's start with the obvious - this "Venice" cruise, marketed as starting in Venice ...
Orginally wanted to go to and overnight in St. Petersburg but they cancelled this and put in two diiferent ports of call which were a total waste of time. Thank you Mr Putin. Other ports were so so. Decided to go despite them cancelling St Petersburg but should of cancelled like everyone else as there were on 1,200 passengers on board. The routing on the ship was terrible we went back and forth ...
After sailing on many different RC ships, this one needs a revamp. The ship lacks basic recreational amenities (mini golf, water slides, etc) found on almost all other RC ships and needs for current amenities to be remodeled (whirlpools only fit 3 people). On the positive side, the crew is very friendly and the ship can dock in small ports.
On this cruise, live entertainment in the theater ...
