I booked this cruise with my 23 year old daughter for a mother/daughter trip. We booked Serenade due to the itinerary meeting our needs. We previously sailed RC as a family on the Oasis and Freedom. We loved both of the previous cruises. I was a bit hesitant booking such a small ship but figured it was only 5 days and would be great regardless of size.
Embarkation was wonderful. We were on the ...
We had been on this ship twice before - once during Covid19 as ships were starting to sail again and that was an amazing cruise actually despite all of that.
Then a year later to Spain and France and now this one to the Fjords. The last two times we got the Key package.
Embarking and disembarking were super quick and it wouldn’t have mattered had we got the key or not. It looks like it’s ...
good and not so good about anthem of the seas
Not so good-
The ship is really not that well designed. When I say that there are highlights and lowlights.
Highlights are the usual large theater with balcony as seen on other RCCL ships. Also the Two70 lounge is a nice space that is comfortable and techy. See other comments below about sportsplex and pools. Also the casino is below ...
The Windjammer was JAMMED with people. The poor staff at the doors were threatening to call security as people pushed passed their roped off doorways. Smokers convene at the entrance to the buffet so it is necessary to pass through a cloud of smoke to enter. Long lines to get on and off the ship, long embarkation process, near the end of which they force passengers through the entire length of a ...
Wash your frickin hands people! Before I talk about the cruise, there was an outbreak of Norovirus on this sailing which can be largely prevented if people washed their hands frequently, but clearly a lot of people don't believe in basic hygiene. Before the outbreak I heard one woman complaining about having to wash her hands when entering the Windjammer buffet because "she washed them before ...
This was an amazing cruise and we were glad we went. But there are some things that RC could do better.
Bus pick up in Venice-make sure you have luggage tags on your bags because when you give them to the bus, you will not see the bags again until they show up at your stateroom later that day. If you don’t have your luggage tags on, it will take extra time standing in more lines.
To get to ...
I booked this trip based on past good experience at Freedom of the seas from San Juan to southern Caribbean. I booked the same room Ocean View Panoramic Suite (No Balcony). But the services I received in the ship is far less than the Freedom of the seas.
1) no special bathroom stuff such as shampoo, condition, etc., it is the same as regular room; no slippers, same regular towels that are ...
We have been loyal Royal Caribbean guests for many years, and this was our 3rd post pandemic cruise with them. We chose this itinerary and ship prior to deciding to change cruise lines, so went with it. The itinerary was very good - all the highlights of the Western Mediterranean coast, plus Rome, and most of our time was spent off the ship as opposed to the Caribbean itineraries. Symphony is ...
We (my sister and I) chose this cruise because of the itinerary, with each of us coming from a different continent this made a change to meet and cruise in the Med rather than the Caribbean. If we had known that embarking in Cyprus was an additional embarkation port we might have not chosen this. If we had known that Haifa was themain embarkation point we would definitely not have chosen this ...
I have to say I am now 57 years old and this is the worst holiday I have ever had. One positive note was the boarding process which was pretty slick. After that we had Breakfast on the first day in the Wind Jammer restaurant which was disgusting, filthy dirty, food all over the floor, no tables available and when they were they weren't cleaned. People walking around eating their breakfast, pushing ...
