Where do I start? This was our first ever cruise. We decided to push the boat out and book a 2 Bedroom Grand Suite for a week. Worked out at €14,000 including gratuities so not cheap. We enjoyed it, but learned some lessons along the way. Would we go again? Probably.
The Mediterranean isn’t the best destination in the world for a ship like Symphony because the ports are miles away from the ...
First ever cruise. We chose this cruise for its ports of call. Very impressed with the overall experience. Very good food, very clean ship. Staff was very accommodating to our requests, letting us pick our dining time and ensuring we had wine glasses in our room every night. We had a private excursion in Santorini at 830am and were told to wait in the conference room with others and we were ...
Just returned from a 12 night British Isles trip and wanted to share my perspective in case it helps other travelers like me. I'm an intermediate cruiser- have done about 7 total, this was my 2nd with RC after sailing on Harmony when it was brand new about 5 years ago. I traveled with my spouse and 3 kids (age 5-12), and 6 additional adult family members. I'll always maintain that cruising is the ...
We had a fantastic time on this cruise that left out of Ravenna, Italy. I was surprised with the Interiors of this older ship. Everything had been updated. I rarely could tell the age of the ship. The Cabin was likewise updated.
Food was fantastic, the Crew Members were great, they all seemed genuinely engaged with all the passengers. Only issues that I noticed were 2 of the Hot Tubs by ...
We enjoy cruising and although we have tried a couple different lines, we always return to Royal. Like all RCI ships, Anthem is stunning in many ways, but for us it is about the great service, excellent food, and wonderful shows, and ultimately the itinerary. We wanted to see Norway, so this was perfect for us. Southampton proved to be a good homeport. Our trip from Heathrow to the terminal was ...
Family selected this since there was a sale last summer on this particular cruise. Six adults and four kids.
Over 25 years ago, Royal Caribbean (RC)was our first cruise. We were hooked ....the food, entertainment, bars, etc. were excellent. Since then we have cruised on 10+ occasions, on a variety of cruise lines in addition to RC. RC has evidently changed their business model and is ...
We had been on this ship twice before - once during Covid19 as ships were starting to sail again and that was an amazing cruise actually despite all of that.
Then a year later to Spain and France and now this one to the Fjords. The last two times we got the Key package.
Embarking and disembarking were super quick and it wouldn’t have mattered had we got the key or not. It looks like it’s ...
good and not so good about anthem of the seas
Not so good-
The ship is really not that well designed. When I say that there are highlights and lowlights.
Highlights are the usual large theater with balcony as seen on other RCCL ships. Also the Two70 lounge is a nice space that is comfortable and techy. See other comments below about sportsplex and pools. Also the casino is below ...
This was an amazing cruise and we were glad we went. But there are some things that RC could do better.
Bus pick up in Venice-make sure you have luggage tags on your bags because when you give them to the bus, you will not see the bags again until they show up at your stateroom later that day. If you don’t have your luggage tags on, it will take extra time standing in more lines.
To get to ...
1 - Boarding for the first time: We have been on well over a dozen cruises over the years. This was, by a long shot, the easiest time we have ever had initially boarding a ship. We walked with our luggage into the pier in Amsterdam, answered a few health (COVID) questions, walked past a carousel where we put down our luggage, and boarded the ship. I would estimate the entire process from the taxi ...
