This is by far and away the WORST cruise we have ever been on and we cruise a couple times each year. We purchased this cruise in June of 2023. This was prior to the Maui Fires. The cruise was to leave Vancouver and start the 6 day Pacific crossing, however due to the Maui fires the two days/nights we were to spend in Lahaina were off the itinerary. Instead Royal Caribbean made the decision ...
A complete review of 7n Alaska on Brilliance of the Seas.
We had 3 staterooms and 8 people total for a 7 N cruise from Vancouver. The trip itself was great, but the cruise experience was sub par.
The Ship
Let’s be honest: The last time this ship was refurbished was a decade ago. It’s clean(ish) but in desperate need of an overhaul. There are only 4 outlets in a stateroom and 2 of those ...
Alaska itself was absolutely breathtaking.. we loved every shore excursion we took. However, we were very disappointed in the ship, the food and the customer service. ( I should say lack of customer service.)
I will say that our suite was larger than we expected, and we absolutely adored our cabin stewardess she was amazing. Having sailed on other cruise lines where are used to a certain level ...
I chose this itinerary because I was on a B2B2B. I boarded the Radiance on 9/23 for the 11 night Hawaii and stayed on 10/4 for the 2nd Hawaiian cruise and decided to stay on for this 10/15 Pacific Coast cruise. The first two cruises were unremarkable while this last leg was remarkably bad. It coincided with spring break and there were too many unsupervised, unruly kids.
I had remained in ...
We tried this cruise to see if we could enjoy the longer length and master the art of sea days. We failed. There were two couples in our 60s. We don't attend the dance parties, but enjoy the theatre productions and trivia sessions.
Day One- Embarkation- Vancouver and RCCL handled it brilliantly. We had a rental car and dropped the spouses off early before returning the rental at the airport. It ...
I have done many cruises and this was the worst. The food on the Radiance of the Seas was horrible. No good seafood even though cruising in Alaska. The lack of good entertainment was sad. Normally the entertainment during the evenings is great but not this time. Very little to do in the evenings since the lack of entertainment. Sad their is now a fee for room service. Not sure when this ...
It was my birthday on June 15th and it was a cuise that I wanted to do. We were schedule to board at 1pm. so we got to the pier at 12.30 pm. and we finnaly got on board at 3.30 pm just as the Windjammer was closing. This was our 19th cruise with RCL and the food on board was by far the worse we have ever had. The service was slow, but we soon found tout that they were short staffed. The hot tub ...
We had an amazing time on the ship and in Alaska, but Royal was more in the way of making that happen then helping make it happen.
This is an amazing ship with great potential, but Royal vastly understaffed it. I understand it’s hard to find employees right now, but they should have scaled back the passengers if that was the case. There were incredible long waits for food everywhere because on ...
This was the first and last cruise I will do with Royal Caribbean. On formal nights very few dressed up mostly people just dressed in jeans and hoodies, one person looked like she had just come from the gym in her workout clothes. We did My Dining, big mistake. I have done a similar dining on other cruise lines and it was a lot better than this ship. My advise do not do My Dining go for the set ...
We really like the itinerary for the sea and land tours. Besides the cabin issues we had some other issues were: We went the entire week WITH NO HOT WATER. One day we had no water at all. And yes I called maintenance. Children were allowed to run freely in the casino. One evening in the Champagne Bar children were playing football with a shoe. Besides the parents not doing anything I feel ...
