A Once In A Lifetime Experience

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Radiance of the Seas

This was our 7th cruise (2nd on Royal) and what a fantastic experience this was. Alaska is a place I've always wanted to go see and I'm so glad we finally got to go. We started with three days in Vancouver before our cruise departed. We stayed at the Pan Pacific right at Canada Place which is where the cruise ships dock. This was a super convenient location. The hotel was a bit pricey but ...

We stayed in Vancouver for a few days before the cruise at the Best Western Chateau Granville. The city was nice and so was the hotel. We did the Hop on/off Trolley, which made it easy to see the city. We boarded the ship on the 7th, and it was a fast easy process. It took maybe 20 minutes. The ship is nice, the staff was friendly. We ate at Windjammer while waiting for our room. The food was good ...

We arrived the day before departure in Vancouver and stayed at the Delta Suites. The location was great. Only $10 Canadian for the two block ride right to the dock check-in point. No line for embarkation. The Radiance of the Seas was the perfect size. Loved the ship! The flow from one area to another was great and prevented congestion. Amy was the cruise director with Darrel being in charge ...

(This write-up ended up much longer than I planned. Short version: this is a great cruise. The Radiance is a fine ship, the crew very helpful, and the Alaskan views are amazing.) I have to say I'm surprised with some of the negative reviews for the Radiance. My wife and I had a wonderful time both on and off the ship. First, some background. My wife and I have done six cruises now, five ...

An Excellent Alaskan Experience

This was our first Alaskan cruise (we have taken several Caribbian Cruises) The ship The Radiance of the Seas isn’t a new or a large ship, but neither of these factors were a detractor for us. When we first arrived at the Port of Vancouver and saw the outside of the ship I was a tiny bit concerned because we could see visible rust here and there on the outside of the ship. It’s not that ...

This was our second cruise and first on royal caribbean on Alaska cruise and it came up trumps. Last year we sailed on Hurtgruten from Bergen to Tromso, which was very good on scenery but that can not be called cruise ship, it was more like coastal ferry. This time around we splurged a bit and went for Junier suit on deck 10. It was well worth it. The stateroom is very spacious with comfy bed ...

There were 6 of us (Australians in our 30’s and 40’s) travelling together (3 couples in 3 staterooms) for a B2B Alaskan adventure and we chose Radiance of the Seas as my previous cruise on RCI had been amazing. Two of our friends celebrated their wedding anniversary on the first cruise. My husband and I celebrated ours on the second cruise. Embarkation at Canada Place was easy and we were on ...

Wonderful Cruise!

Radiance of the Seas was a wonderful ship and we thoroughly enjoyed our cruise through Alaska! Embarking was long but easy and our bags arrived to our room shortly after we boarded. Not many small children on board which was nice. Food was very good, the Windjammer Cafe (buffet style) was great for breakfast and lunch but definitely get the specialty restaurant package and try those at night ...

Overall good cruise

Review for a Hawaii Cruise on Rhapsody of the Seas

This cruise was very good overall. Embarking in Vancouver was a DISASTER (It took us 3 hours) but that was more the Port of Vancouver's fault than RCL. Our room was as expected... nothing more nothing less. Food in the main dining room was not as good as normal. I'm not sure anybody at out table was wowed with more than 1 meal in the 11 we received. Oddly enough, though, food in the windjammer was ...

Honeymoon cruise!

My wife and I did our second cruise on the Rhapsody. We wanted to do a cruise and Hawaii was the perfect place for a honeymoon. We got engaged just before our first cruise a year before on Majesty of the Seas. Flight into Vancouver was fine, the bus ride to the port was a little long but the driver did a good job of entertaining during the drive. Embarking took longer than expected as they stated ...
