I was looking for a Northbound Alaska cruise that had a great kids program. The cruise line has declined to the point that I would never pick it in the future. The meals were very average. They gave fancy name to food that you would have received at a Denny's. The kid program wasn't even close to the Disney program. The don't run the program all day so unless your need matches their set times ...
They called this the Radiance of the Sea but I was not seeing where it fit the definition of Radiance.
Very disappointed after traveling the distance that we had to arrive in our room and not find our luggage. It was disappointing we could not even freshen up for dinner with clean clothes. It became more of a disappointment when our luggage did not arrive at our rooms until after 8:00 ...
We chose this ship based on the Ports of Call and sail dates as we were coordinating the cruise with a conference in Anchorage. Overall, the ship design and lay-out was very good. The recent refurbishment made the ship look new. We enjoyed the on-board entertainment. Steve is a great cruise director.
I downgraded the overall rating for the disappointing food. Unfortunately, it was the ...
I liked the value and the itinerary, even though it was very port intensive.
The emabarkation in Vancouver was a nightmare! Took 2-3 hrs to get through Canada Place and onto the ship. What a mess! We arrived around 11:30am and there were people still leaving from previous cruise; people walking every which way and staffers having to yell to get the crowds of people to line up their ship (3 ...
Our balcony cabin (9582) was perfect, ship easy to maneuver, food quality average to poor BUT every one of the staff we encountered had a smile every day. Every port, Sitka, Ketchikan, Icy Strait, Skagway, Juneau, Haines and Seward were amazing and our excursions (private and Royal Caribbean) were the best we have had in 5 Alaska cruises. Loved coffee and cocoa availability 24/7 on 11th floor. ...
Had a great trip to Alaska. The embarkation in Vancouver was a nightmare! Had to wait in a room for over two hours to go through security mixed in with Two other companies ships! Celebrity had two ships and Holland had one in addition to the Radiance! A nightmare! Our cabin and steward were wonderful! The service in the dining room left a lot to be desired! We had MTD at 815, never sat in ...
Took the Radiance of the Seas to Alaska in Jul 2016 and was not overwhelmed as I have been with other ships of this carrier. A problem occurred in our stern cabin when we experienced a slight bathroom odor but elected to stay in the room after unpacking versus moving if that was even a possibility. Other passengers on the stern near us also experienced the same issue, but as most people do - ...
This was our first cruise and we specifically chose Alaska so the ship was what just happened to be going on the days that worked. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful. The problems we encountered are out of their control. Not enough tables in the Windjammer during breakfast and lunch which would be alleviated with longer breakfast and lunch times in the Cascade dining room. This could ...
This was only my second cruise, and I thought the cruise itself was fine. I took it more for convenient transportation than for the cruise experience. We stayed at the Pan Pacific in Vancouver, and they took care of transporting our luggage to the ship. We did the Kenai Fjords Cruise with Airport Drop Off at the end of the cruise in Seward, and they took care of delivering our luggage to the ...
We decided that the best way to see Alaska was on a cruise ship doing a one way trip that included a stop at Hubbard Glacier. That led us to Royal Caribbean, and the price seemed acceptable even though we had heard warnings about the Radiance of the Seas. We loved Alaska, but after this trip we will probably never take another cruise, and if we do it won't be on Royal Caribbean.
To start with, ...
