We chose this cruise because of the itinerary that included Iceland and Greenland, and the price (we travel a lot, before the Jewel, we spent weeks in Europe and since this cruise we spent 6 weeks in Singapore, Hong Kong, and China), since we have to watch the budget. We enjoyed the itinerary, and overall the experience was good. The crew worked hard and the service was good.
We loved ...
The food was mediocre at best.
The itinerary was why we chose this cruise. I have been around long enough to know that the new, splashy ships have the least interesting itineraries, and the older tired ships have the most interesting itineraries. However, I did not expect the older ship to offer subpar food and experiences.
The salad dressings had no flavor at all, and the soups were just ...
We chose this cruise primarily because of the itinerary. We are not novice cruises, having done over 60 of them. The ship is older, but appears to be well maintained for the most part. Embarktation was slow, stood in line for over an hour before we boarded. We had a balcony cabin that was spacious and featured good storage. Most employees try very hard to please, but overall management is ...
I took Anthem of the Seas on a repositioning cruise from New York to Southampton on May1, 2023. A repositioning cruise is a bit different from a standard Caribbean cruise, as there are many more sea days. My cruise had seven - which is admittedly a long time to go without seeing land. Repositioning cruises have a cult following, with many repeat cruisers who do nothing but take the cruise - and ...
I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that the cruise itself was OK. I say surprised because 2 Royal cruises were on last year were pretty bad. On this cruise food in the MDR was ok, not great but acceptable. A couple of misses but in general OK. I was concerned that they removed the always offered items however we were always able to find something. I even thought the coffee was OK.

We needed a transatlantic ride to the Greek Islands, where we disembarked.
Cabin care was excellent. The steward worked 24/7, which indicates low staffing.
Fixed time dining service was excellent. The wait staff were in rapid motion all evening, again low staffing.
Breakfast and lunch in the dining room was quite poor. The staff seemed to have little knowledge of American and British ...
My wife and I had a very relaxing cruise across the Atlantic. We were in room 81** (standard balcony cabin), cabin was nice, and had plenty of room or the two of us. Lots of storage areas. We bring a plastic fold up shoe holder to hang over the bathroom door to give much more storage space in the bathroom. Bed was comfortable, shower was not hot enough for me, told our room attendant and ...
With the “Quantum of the seas” fresh in my mind from a couple of weeks earlier, and being seriously disappointed with the comfort of the room and quality of the food on the Quantum, I decided, against my better judgement, to jump at a reasonable price for a ‘Single Balcony Stateroom’ for the two-week crossing on the Odyssey – transatlantic FORT LAUDERDALE to Rome.
My general thinking was that ...
I was a bit apprehensive doing a transatlantic cruise. This was our 20th cruise, we have sailed the most on Celebrity Solstice size ships, NCl a bunch of times, 2x on Princess, 2x Carnival, 2x Holland America, Disney, Costa and twice before on Royal Caribbean on Allure and Oasis. We have done two other Celebrity cruises within the last year for comparison purposes. We chose this ship because ...
Crew A+ Waitstaff and housekeeping steward…. Food mediocre, chops grill steak inferior filet mignon cut and sides came out cold. Windjammer worst buffet experience, food and presentation, main dining room waitstaff great….food menu disappointing and mediocre. Solarium great at night, chaotic for breakfast and food selection much like a school cafeteria. Future cruise department was a ...
